We're gonna be lucky to get to 50 here. I do wonder if the race related stuff is having an effect on England?

Wouldn't blame you for going off to bed Riot.....I've just poured a lovely malt.
BT Sport is awful compared to SKY.....where are the English Commentators? Maybe not there due to Covid rules?

I just think it was a stupid decision to bat.
Then the Aussies have bowled well, and Burns and Malan just surrendered their wickets.
Tbf Root was out to an excellent ball

I'll probably watch until lunch.
Can't beat a good malt Swannie.
Yeah, I'm watching an Aussie stream they're crowing like our rooster does first thing in the morning.

Seaming and swinging, why would you opt to bat?

The Drinks' break has been England's longest lasting partnership so far

You're not surprised, are you Swannie?
England are a shocking Test team, the Aussies will wipe the floor with us in this series, I reckon we are 200 short on that wicket,
From my point a view, they are not worth losing precious sleep on!
Enjoy the battering you nightbirds.

You did well sticking with it for an hour mate.
Watching England cricket play is a prolonged version of a Liverpool v Leeds game

Re: The Ashes 2021-22
I watched until after Stokes got out, almost lunch.
Crazy decision to bat in those conditions, swinging and seaming, Aussies chomping at the bit. Burns's dismissal set the tone for the day and the series.
Poor shot by Malan to a ball he should've left. Root got out to a good ball. Stokes looked determined but rusty.
At least the middle order had a go or it would've been even more disastrous.
Got to knock the Aussies over quickly and cheaply or we'll be looking at an innings defeat and 0-5 on the horizon.

I will say, that judgement should be reserved till we see what the Aussies score.

At least the Bowmore got me off for an odd hour, flaming pathetic start to a test match.

Re: The Ashes 2021-22
Not surprised, historically our worst ever top 3, Stokes at 5 is too high. Root is the only test level batsman we have ... Never rated Buttler, he's a hitter who needs to get lucky. Root then probably Woakes are the batsmen Austarlia need to target, get those two out and we're 100-200 most innings unless we get lucky and Stokes hits a few 6's
Is Stokes bowling in this series do we know?
Add to that the covid conditions and if Australia don't whitewash us they'll have had a poor series..
Maybe the ashes should be 50 T20's going forward if we're killing 4 day cricket in the UK, 2 a day for25 days should equate to the same amount of cricket...We could at least play the best "cricketers" we have in England, like Jason Roy.. in fact why isn't he playing in the test? Even an hour of Roy will outscore the top 3 most of the time and we can be through the test in three days....Assuming the Aussies bat for two of them

Given the conditions, I am surprised that neither Broad or Anderson were picked. This was one of the rare times in Australia when traditional English seamers might take wickets.

Reading today that they didn't get one single game in preparation.
