The actual BBC interview.
That’s really tough on him and was bound to impact on his performances. If we had a bigger squad he would have been given time out.

Think some of our fans have been unknowingly unfair to Stuart this season.Boo Radley wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 5:00 pm https://www.bbc.com/sport/av/northern-ireland/59081751

That being said he shouldn't have been playing, the club were aware of his issues and still played him.
So whilst I feel sorry for him why was he allowed to play when clearly his head wasn't right?
Poor management and the team suffered as a result.
And being brutal he didnt play well vs Manure, Everton and Burnley either so can't blame it all on his circumstances

The disadvantages of not having a top quality midfielder & inadequate cover in certain positions raises it ugly head yet again.
Dallas is not really a natural central midfielder, he's stepped up & adapted to that position.
We miss Stuart when he's not in his midfield role and at LWB too, unfortunately he can't play both simultaneously, although he seemed to be playing both roles v Wolves in the second half.

Clearly he shouldn't have been anywhere near a football pitch through this difficult time in his life. This does seem like very poor management yes and frankly, very unfair on Dallas. You simply can't play someone who's head isn't in the right frame of mind. Typical of the man that he didn't want to let anyone down but someone really should have drawn the line and given him the time away he needed. I don't care how small a squad we have.

Not entirely sure wallowing in pity and sadness at home all day is how a lot of people want to grieve

Club should have took the decision out of his hands.
Come to training, travel to the games, be in and around the dressing room.
But for the good of the team he shouldn't have been playing.
Our style requires 100% concentration and Dallas has been awful, now we know why.

He's been nowhere near awful sorry. He set an unbelievably high bar last season and he's been far from being one of the worst players this season. Yes he's not been fantastic like last season but he's been okCjay wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 8:04 pm Club should have took the decision out of his hands.

Re: Stuart Dallas - Poor Stuart....bereavement/covid, explains it all.
Have those who are using this as a stick to beat the manager and the club actually bothered to read what Dallas himself says?
He places the club alongside his wife and family in thanking them for their support!
Thankfully I have a good family, my wife and kids around me and good team-mates and a good club to help me through these challenging times.
He says very clearly that it's his decision to keep playing.
I'll just crack on and maybe look back on it in years to come that it was maybe the wrong thing to do.
For me at the minute, I feel it's the right thing, to not use anything as an excuse.
It should be noted that he's also played for NI.
I think he himself, his family, his club and his country all should know more about playing him than punters on the www who at this stage seem to be twisting every single story into an attack on or criticism of Bielsa and the club.

He hasn't appeared in the top 3 of a single motm poll this season.
I am sorry but I think ok is being very generous.

The club should put the team first and a player whose head isn't straight shouldn't be playing.

It doesn't help that social media have translated his personal problems into being kicked out of his family home, and having to live in a hotel. He was in the hotel to self isolate.

People, their family and their club certainly know more about what's best for them than complete strangers on the www who don't even read what he says and are just determined to have a go at the manager and club.

Well Stuart's had a tough period and it's clear to see it's affected him, both mentally and physically.
Sounds like the club has been as supportive as possible and ultimately I would say that it's down to Stuart, Bielsa and the coaches to decide whether he's fit to play.
These experiences usually make you mentally stronger, but everyone needs emotional support which he clearly gets.
Hopefully he proves his decision is correct and starts performing at his previous levels. We need our team to start firing immediately.
Wish Stuart all the best.

I think it is very much down to the individual as to whether they want to play and whether they feel able to play. Look at the Woodgate and Bowyer examples from years ago and Bowyer played amazing despite the court case hanging over him whereas Woodgate basically was unable to play.
