More like Leeds in the premier league

Italians still pressing from the front in the 91st minute.

Great start for Italy.

I knew that once Italy managed to get ahead the game would open up. Turkey were packing eight men inside their box. Once they had to actually start playing Italy came alive.

Italy will be a tough nut to crack. Turkey never looked like scoring. Not even close.

I agree Italy looked good John, but against a team whose greatest threat was a 0-0 draw.

At this point we don’t even know if Italy can defend, that’s how toothless Turkey were.

Turkey certainly can’t, and look to have no attacking flair and little stamina.

But they were up against an opponent in Turkey that just came to defend and hardly came out of their own penalty area.

Italy also had an amazingly easy qualifying group: Finland, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia and Liechtenstein, from which they scored max points and scored 37 goals while only conceding 4 from 10 matches.

It equates to England's typical world beating qualifying performances that always come to an abrupt halt once they meet a team from the world's top 8-12.

Looking forward to Tyro justifying his new contract and proving me and others wrong today.

I await his overnight transformation on the big stage and him becoming Mbappe

I understand that Leon, my point was that against Turkey they didn't even need to prove it. Italy looked good but Turkey had no ambition whatsoever and never tried to make a game of it.
