Liverpool snatch a late winner.
Happy with that as it keeps us ahead of Villa

Chelsea got their Baggies horrific display out of their system as they are coasting 0-3 at Palace

Re: Today's Games.
Just a takeaway from the Wolves boss after their last minute win against relegation fodder Fulham.
"Our priority was to defend"
Think about that. A club which has imvested in taking them further than the Pl. Massive fees for players.
Our priority was to defend.
This against a side on its way back to the second tier.
Shameful.
Thank whatever diety you revere we have someone else at the helm.

Re: Today's Games.
That is terrible. Why would they go their to defend hardly like they say needed a point to stay up or something. THis point in the season and nothing to win or lose for them so why not go out and play?Irish Ian wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 10:36 pm Just a takeaway from the Wolves boss after their last minute win against relegation fodder Fulham.

So glad we have Bielsa who will attack any team. Okay it has backfired a couple of times but hardly like we'd have got a better result in those games by going there to defend , maybe less goals conceded but same result.

Re: Today's Games.
Yeah people moan about VAR but the technology and stopping games isn't the problem. It is the inconsistencies of the decision making that is ruining it and the offside rule involving differing body parts and obscurely drawn lines - or like today not checking the city goal and then showing if he was onside or offside.

What an incredible thing for a manager to say vs a bottom 3 team.
Amazing.
Nuno is just a Portuguese Pulis/Bruce/Dyche.

Another manager who was better than Bielsa a few weeks back, now their fans want him sacked.
I've always found the job he's done at Wolves overrated. 7th in the PL with a load of Porto players isn't the great achievement it's made out to be. Who realistically has a better squad than them outside the top 6?
He was sacked for failing at Porto and Valencia.

I liked his Wolves Championship side, wasnt a great achievement getting them promoted but they played good football.SG90 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 8:36 am Another manager who was better than Bielsa a few weeks back, now their fans want him sacked.

Ever since then they have been going progressively backwards on the pitch and now spend most of their time camped on the edge of their own box while pumping the ball to Traore and hoping for the best.
Not a fan of Nuno and his style and as you say, failing to win a trophy at Porto is so so poor.
Seems a nice man but his style of play is dire.
Getting a newly promoted side 7th deserves credit tbf but playing as negatively as he does makes it far easier to win games imo and spoils the achievement somewhat.
Its far easier to be defensive than attacking at the top level and thats why i consider us a better side than Blades and Wolves when promoted imo.

Re: Today's Games.
But they weren't your typical promoted side. Backed by billionaire owners and Jorge Mendes. Not like Bielsa and Wilder, who kept the same Championship squad, they replaced theirs almost instantly.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 8:52 am I liked his Wolves Championship side, wasnt a great achievement getting them promoted but they played good football.

Lol. Newcastle denied a penalty when their player is kicked in the head. VAR says no pen because the defender got the ball and the attacker “moved into his space” (and got kicked in the head in the follow through). Shearer asks resident ‘ex-ref’ what’s the difference between this not even being a foul and Cooper’s send off. Ex-ref had no explanation.
VAR ruining the game globally.

Saint-Maximin makes it 1-2 with a terrific goal.
Stays like this & it will be the final nail in the coffin for Fulham?

Hate to say it but hoping the Scum and the Blunts both win today.
David Moyes has done an amazing job at West Ham this season. Bielsa, Moyes, and Rodgers would be my picks for manager of the year.

Re: Today's Games.
McTominay is a very lucky boy. Booked early on and then swings out to slap Son in the face in the lead up to Cavani goal. VAR correctly rules the goal out because of that but he doesn’t get a second yellow. Typical, how the likes of him gets away with that.
Now Son has piled on the punishment by scoring straight afterwards!
