Re: Playlist over the last week......
I'll be honest I didn't get far, I can do some prog from that era but too much is overblown for me or the lyrics seem to forced. Soft Machine, Van De Graff Generator I have albums by. I have a soft spot for Foxtrot and Selling England maybe a couple of others and 5 Bridges gets a bit of play here. Latterly it's Porcupine Tree but it's not a genre I have a great love for
Interesting a prog girl becomes a punk...I thought it was ne'er shall the two worlds collide type deal

Just an album I think 64...It just edges Dead Elvis for me as their best work. Scorpio Rising and Satan's Circus are a slight drop off and haven't bothered with the two latter albums

Of course, apologies. You're younger than me by a handful of years..Anonymous wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 12:18 pm Punk came first, as that was happening when I was 10 or 11, so it was the first music that was 'mine'. Then I discovered Dylan, and joined the local record library. They had the entire back catalogues for everything decent from the 60s and 70s, so I worked my way through it. I also had Max Richter pointing me towards more obscure stuff.
Used to see the Enid regularly, Hawkwind, Mick Abrahams, Solstice, Girlschool were always on somewhere. Really liked experimental post-punk stuff like the Virgin Prunes too, so used to get the train down to Camden to see them. UK Decay and Tantra were local.
