The Clash 'London Calling'
Admittedly I came late to The Clash
This album should be in every collection, there’s a reason why it’s listed amongst the best albums of all time.

Joy Division 'Unknown Pleasures
An iconic album in many aspects, from the cover to the sound. One of the best albums of its time and still sounds raw and fresh today.

With their best still to come imo!
Re: Playlist over the last week......
It's fantastic and the cover is possibly the greatest album cover of all time. I actually slightly prefer 'Closer' though.

You vain bugger....
What has your last line got to do with anything??
Re: Playlist over the last week......
Here we go, 64 can rock too
From 1972 the following album is one of their best, Lizzy fans who got into them later seem to ignore this wonderful 5 star gem.
Features 'The Rocker' 'Whisky In The Jar' & the relatively unknown beauty 'Little Girl In Bloom' plus many other great songs, I give you :
Thin Lizzy 'Vagabonds Of The Western World'
Dearly departed Phil Lynott at his very best

Planet Queen, It's a rip off and Life's a gas are the best tracks on the excellent Electric Warrior

Re: Playlist over the last week......
The 2 classic single tracks are top drawer and the rest of the album is consistently very good. Monolith, I really like, although Rip Off is probably my least favourite on the album

Great band Cat
Bolan taken away from us far too early
Re: Playlist over the last week......
I didn't know either until I discovered Rock Bottom recently. Before that I was only really aware of Soft Machine and his collaborations.
I expect it's another rabbit hole, and I shall now have to listen to everything he's done!
