Too old to play every game, we desperately need a replacement. Squad player, maybe offer him a coaching role 8/10 for last season
You've posted the above on Pablo's general page, no problem I'll move your post
We'll get at least one more season out of him injury permitting. I'd start him as the 10 in every single game this season bar the cups while he wants to play

I find it fascinating that fans keep insisting "we need a No.10"
Hernandez is quality our best player, but at 36 he wont play everygame we need someone in the same mould as him on the pitch with him. thats what we need in midfield. if hernandez if injured or not playing then we must have another like him to replace him
But he is 35/36, he has dodgy hamstrings, he even said himself he had to be managed after the season restarted because of it. He is the only player (aside from Roberts which is very worrying) that is managed in training.
Last season he missed 10 league games, season before was similar, he will miss a chunk next season to I'm sure.
The sad fact is that he cant go on forever, we have had years of praying Pablo remains fit because without him we dont look anywhere near as good.
Bringing in a younger number 10 isnt a slight on Pablo its just sensible. Relying on a 35 year old for creativity would be madness.
Pablo still has a vital role to play but he needs someone to take the weight to and we need to start planning for life without him.
De Paul for example could be that man but also he can play with Pablo, signing someone like him doesnt mean King Pablo becomes redundant it just means that we arent so reliant on him.
Whats the alternative? Pray Pablo's hammies hold up or we have to rely on Roberts who really did nothing after lockdown to suggest he was capable of replacing Pablo?

Bielsa asked 'How big a loss is Pablo'?
"Pablo is a very important player for our offensive game. More than his experience, he brings a lot of creativity. Not having him means we will be less creative"
It looks like the new signings might be pushing him out of the starting line up. But I would still expect to see him in a lot of half time switches.

"Shackleton got a knock yesterday. Pablo is fit, but not selected"
Why Pablo?
"I evaluate all the players and make a decision. I choose the 18 who are most apt for the game."
Down to Pablo’s reaction on Monday?
"I have already explained the decision and there is no point in insisting. He was available and I picked other players.
Trouble at mill?
