Leeds v Charlton - Team/Reports/Ratings....

Post by 1964white »

I only hope Mcdermott has learned his lesson from the game of two-halves v Donny. We require pace & a player who is capable of controlling the engine room therefore Tonge, White & Stewart have to start after Saturday's 2nd half showing. I would also bring back Warnock for Pugh & Murphy in for Mowatt if fit but i suppose that is too much to ask !

Butland

Byram Lees Pearce Warnock

Stewart Murphy (Mowatt) Tonge White

Smith McCormack

Tom (hoof it in the stands) Lees  Surely only because there is no one else to play there ???? Hopefully Austin has done one and joined Ulan Bator Rovers in the Outer Mongolian Premier League

Murphy has been carrying an injury for the last 2 games, so possibly Egg will rest him. He wasn't up to carrying Austin on Saturday, tho he did his best.

Butland
Sam - Lees/Wootton (?) - Pearce - White
Brown - Lenighan -
Tonge
Stewart & Poleon on the flanks
Ross - Smith

Dawson seems to be fit according to Redders, so I hope he'll be on the bench

Murphy can do one, White surprised me actually, he looked up for it and did a good job in the second half :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

I have to concur with that, Leon. We played half the game well, play the same team and see where it takes us. It's a surprise that Tonge hasn't been used before, everyone tends to think of Brown as the only viable alternative to Austin, it's perhaps time other avenues were tried, and given a run, I include Aidy in that. We need some players who haven't been beaten down by the crowd who are willing to take on their job and play with guts and intelligence.

Odd, as the majority of Leeds fans rate Murphy as one of our better players :duno:

The old 4-2-1-2-2 formation huh?

As long as nobody notices we have 12 players on the pitch we should be OK

McDermott has caused his own downfall to a certain extent by bringing players into the club who are no better than the players he had at his disposal.
Sticking with his favourites & ignoring/falling out with his players is not good management, he's there to inspire not dispirit half the squad. Ignoring & dropping the likes of Varney, Peltier, Warnock, Brown, Tonge, Norris, White is ludicrous bearing in mind how poor our form has been all season. Proof in the pudding when he introduced Tonge & White into the fore yesterday.
McDermott lost us the Donny game as soon he picked the starting eleven sticking with basically the same team which was hammered at Bournemouth & several other times since January.....Clueless !

Yes only if he is fit, he has carried our midfield singlely-handed this season

If he is has an injury he should be rested, obviously our dopey manager thinks otherwise
