Sorry just read this and well to be perfectly honest you really haven't a clue, do you ? I am on a self imposed ban and am coming up next April to 50 years supporting my club, but in your words I am a glory fan.

Bates is killing our club and those who have been going over the years can see this yet we have the Bates Apologists who call their fellow fans because we will no longer pay Premiership prices to see 2nd rate football. During our time in Division 3, yep us oldies still call it that, I attended over 130 games in 3 seasons home and away. Yet you call us glory fans because we decide enough is enough.

It breaks my heart not going to ER and what with Saturdays game coming up against Florist it will be really hard as I live in Nottingham.

Crowds will get lower the longer Bates is at club. 19750 v Hull just goes to show the apathy Leeds fans have these days.

All I ask is that you think before you post, get the facts, look at the fans who are staying away and ask the question why ?

Top post Phil and GREAT to see you post on here again mate!
Thing is, it's up to every individual fan. You have decided not to attend. I would love to be able to! Fans coming over from Australia and USA - They are not "Bates apologists". They just want to support our team. As do the noggies and danes who come over for a lot of home games and spend a LOT of money doing so..
Boycott Billy's Bar and Howards and programmes etc. ok. But refusing to come and support the team is ridiculous, I feel :duno:
If I was in Leeds I'd try to be at every game, to do just that. GET BEHIND THE LADS. All that matters at our games.
I want the wonker out as much as you mate. Damned if I'll let him stop me cheering on LUFC tho, if I can.
Soz Phil, but I don't agree with your boycott. Cutting off nose to spite face...
I'd rather hear a mix of bates out chants and cheering on the players at ER, than have absent fans and a ½ empty stadium.
I respect your decision - I just feel it is wrong.
Hoping you will post more on here. Miss you mate!

hmm. I don't like the personal attack on BJS there, there was no reason to go about it that way especially as I'm sure that wan't exactly what BJS was intimating,

The thing is though that if the team was playing good football and winning the attendances would go up. It isn't glory fans as such but it is a fact that it takes a lot more effort to drag yourself to the match and part with hard earned cash if the product isn't good. Do I want to waste 6 or 7 hours of the day driving to and from ER, spend a fortune on parking and tickets to watch drivel? Or do I spend the day making money and keep up to date with the match via the text reports, radio or tv stream?

Now if the team was playing good football I am more likely to make the financial sacrifice because I will be looking forward to going to the match and enjoying the game.

The excitement has gone from ER and that is the blame of more than just Bates.

I can only speak for myself, but a lack of disposable cash, expensive prices (one match costs me the same amount as my cricket membership) and a horrible atmosphere are the main issues, with a few others thrown in for measure.

If having to buy my daughters school shoes makes me a glory supporter so be it.
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

I never understand this glory hunter stuff. Attending football is not like national service. People go if they want to and when they can (if they can afford to). I never understand the self imposed exile stuff either. Exiles would be fewer if we were winning. A true exile who has an issue with Bates would have stopped going the day he arrived if Bates was the issue surely, not waited to see how he got on. There are no martys only people who do what they want\can afford to do. You don't want to go - fine. You want to go - fine. Fans who go do not deserve to be called apologists nor do fans who take a different view on Bates to the hard core. Fan v fan is pointless. The team needs the fans right now imo. We are potentially on the brink of another relegation dog fight with only kids to save us. Those kids deserve our support. Staying away and anti Bates chants will not help Byram, Poleon, White or Lees of that I am 100% certain. All about personal choice in the end.

It's far too expensive to go and doesn't represent vslue for money. 26-36£ per ticket is obscene to watch pompy rejrcts and free transfers the tickets should be priced according to the clubs ambition. If anyone on here thinks that squad is good enough they are living in cloud cuckoo land. Feel sorry for Colin the most though it's like asking a chef to make a beef wellington then been given a piece of brisket to do it with. BATES OUT
