Doncaster v Leeds

Post by revieboy »

Being from Donny I am looking forward to this fixture. In the past we've been humiliated by Rovers, especially at Wembley.

To be honest some of their fans have been a little smug and I've had to put up with alot over the last few years.

After watching us yesterday we are a world away from that Wembley side that Rovers took apart. Ankergren, Richardson, Huntington, Michalik, Johnson, Kilkenny, Howson, Douglas, Prutton (Kandol 69), Beckford, Freedman (Hughes 77).

Although Kilkenny and Howson remain in the centre they now have the options of pace out wide. We are seeing Leeds playing lovely football and Rovers fans are expecting a pedestrian long ball team!

Donny are seen as the best footballing side in the Championship, but I think their style will suit us. It could be a cracking game!!

Will never forget standing 1metre away from Dad's big screen for the entire match, starting at 3am on a Monday morning.. nothing on accept my Leeds shorts (pyjamas ) and a Leeds scarf, biting my fingernails...

The feeling i had after that game was one of the worst ive had as a Leeds fan...

I hope we fookin rip Donny to shreads... and i think we will.. theres' a chance everyone will be fit by then (fingers crossed)..

There arnt many teams in the division that will deal with Snoddy, Watt, Gradel, and Sam running at them... 8-)

To be honest I've found most Donny fans to be a pretty decent bunch. We completely failed to turn up on the day and only Casper kept us in it early doors. The drive back up from Wembley wasn't a happy one but for some reason didn't feel as bad as the drives back from Cardiff or from ER after the semi defeat to Millwall.

I've had very little ribbing by Donny fans. Apparently my workmates asked the missus the day after if they were safe to mention the game to me and she recommended against it so they left me alone. I talk about football with a load of my patients but they seem to have come to the conclusion that it's best not to wind your doctor up...

We owed Millwall a good thrashing and delivered yesterday. I hope the team play like we owe Donny a good thrashing and we rip them to pieces on the field. I shall make sure I treat their fans with as much respect as they have treated me afterwards though. They are a good footballing side with a good manager but are likely to struggle this season whereas I can only see us pushing onwards.

Haha!

Yeah i agree Dr, most Donny fans are ok but its the ones that annoy you that you remember.

I think they can make the playoffs this season with a little luck.

We were brilliant against Millwall but I think we need to measure ourselves against the better teams. Rather than on one that despite winning their first two games only just scraped promotion through the playoffs and have no real quality.
