Player Ratings Leeds v Millwall
Electric attacking performance despite some dodgy defending.
Schmeichel 9 - Rarely troubled but when he was produced fantastic tip over the bar and also when their player was offside still did the Schmeichel 'starjump' to block a certain finish. Class
Connolly 7 - Settling in more and gave some good service in attack, rarely troubled down our right.
Collins 7 - Steady performance along with some tidy composed play in tight situations. Looking better.
Naylor 4 - Overhit his header back to Kasper to score for them and was let down by a lack of pace in various situations.
Bessone 3 - Our main weakness was attacks down that flank, he hardly won a challenge and showed no ability in the air. Despite this, from his body language I see he is struggling to play to his true form.
Kilkenny 8 - understated performance from him as he kept the play ticking in midfield. Excellent in possession
Howson 9 - Jonnys best performance so far in a Leeds shirt, in terms of going forward, tackling, passing, in every department he looked top class.
Johnson 6 - Pretty poor performance but tried and looked more comfortable when moved to left back.
Sam 8 - Dynamic display and sheer energy as he tracked back. Put Millwall on the back foot.
Watt 8 - Electric in the first half with some real moments of real magic. He drew a gasp from the crowd with his Zidane roulette near the centre circle. Contributed well all game
Becchio 9 - Unbelievable work rate in a man of the match display as he threw his body into every challenge. Will let him off for miss in first half.
Subs -
Somma 10 - debut for Leeds and he showed the composure of a top player as he scored with his first touch. His goal for 3 1 was an exhibition of control and composure. Don't think we need to buy a striker now! maybe a new centre back
Hughes 8 - just gets 8 for being Hughesy
Schmeichel 9 - Rarely troubled but when he was produced fantastic tip over the bar and also when their player was offside still did the Schmeichel 'starjump' to block a certain finish. Class

good scores - you saw what i saw. though i'd give sam and watt 9's for showing such flare.
bradley plays crap then plays better when he gets to left back.

Yeah I should have give them more, probably only got less because they couldnt match the magic of the first half.

I think you are being far too hard on Bessone, I thought he had a very good game today, was only subbed as a tactical move to get Somma onto the field, but a good day for Fede I thought. Give him time to settle in. Nayls by a long way the worst player on the day, Watt my man of the match, with Sam and Somma a close second.

Sam and Watt were unreal at the back end of the first half.. it's amazing that we didnt score more goals..
Bessone needs more time to settle in, i think.. theres' a big difference between playing at Elland Road and play at fookin' Swansea..
Naylor was poor again.. everyone else was immense..
Somma looks the goods, and to think we've still got Paynter, Gradel, and Snoddy to come back in... who said we wouldnt score goals?

Howson's played a part in every important goal we've scored in our recent history and you still think he's no good... what's your point?Twiggster wrote: Made a fantastic defensive clearance at 2-1, didn't he?![]()

Re: Player Ratings Leeds v Millwall
Without any doubt the best attacking display from a Leeds team in a decade, unbelievable stuff
Game should have been over at half-time, in the end the 3-1 scoreline flattered Millwall
Watt MOTM & Sam were superb with their blistering runs & movement on & off the ball, good to see we have found a midfielder in Sam who scores goals
Howson should be made captain as oppose to the lumbering Richard Naylor, Howson has the drive & is a true leader
Howson/Killa is our best pair in central midfield as i have re-iterated in previous posts, both of them pulled the strings today
Somma surprised me, his first goal was laid on a plate for him by Sam but his second was a beauty, a cool finish. Somma is very calm on the ball & looks very promising
Only worry is our defense, need to be more solid & learn how to keep clean sheets, unsure if that is possible with Naylor & Bessone in the team. Yet another sloppy soft goal conceded

Re: Player Ratings Leeds v Millwall
Pretty much agree with everyone else except to say i thought Johnson did better than you all suggest.
He was a constant thorn in their side whenever they got possession. He chased and harried and closed down better than anyone else in the team. He also covered Bessone's arse loads of times.
Collins also seems to have been under-rated. He got across to cover for Bessone whenever Johnson was forward or more central closing down. More vocal today and seemed to be the one marshalling the defence.
Becchio was terrible for the first twenty-five minutes. Off the pace, very bad first touch. Kept falling over all the time.
After twenty-five minutes he seemed to speed up and became much better and more like his normal self.
Howsons best game in a Leeds shirt. I thought he wouldn't be good enough in the championship. If he keeps playing like that he's good enough for the premier league.
Kilkenny even played well. His first touch bringing the ball down to get it under control was top class and bought him time on the ball. This extra time meant his distribution was much better today. A steadying influence in the engine room. He even worked to close them down on the odd occasion they tried to launch an attack.
The best team performance for a long time.
