Yes - he did look good on the left wing. And...to me....looked faster on the the left wing, and more likely to beat his man. Is that a thing?
Why would it not be a thing for a player to feel more confident, more likely to beat his man, with a single burst, or a stop/start burst, on one side, compared to the other flank. Everything is different. The angles are different.

So are we going to repeat this Brenden on the Left thing, to see if we have a dynamic option, that is available, right now? Or are we just going to pretend it never happened?

You'd assume a fit Okafor would play on the left wing if we play with wingers, what isn't helping is we don't have the overlapping left footed wing back atm. Justin is a good player but having to stop, swtch inside onto his right foot is giving defences time to adjust

I think we should put a fairly strong team out all about confidence.
Too lose this early in a cup ain't the best so got to go for win and I would start DCL needs a goal to start him off okafor,James,tanaka ,Gruve from start see what they can do .

Agreed,but also the rest of the team need to feel involved and the cup would be a good place to see where they are cos they need to be ready also .

Gruev was in the leadership group IIRC. It will be interesting to see if he gets any mins this season when he is fit. We are looking to sign another DCM if the Charles bid was anything to go by. I believe he is in the last year of his contract. We may look to get a few quid in the winter window, although as a Jonny foreigner he can agree pre contract terms in January.

I will not be surprised if he we do not see him wear the shirt again before the last game of the season, if he is going to leave. Although, it may depend on injuries / player availability down the road.

DF sounded quite excited today that Gruev was back in team training, but a couple of weeks away from being available for selection.
I think we could see him come off the bench and/or play cup games.
Also depends who else comes in. Rumour mill talking of us linked with Berg, the Norwegian international. Hes very similar to Gruev. But just a rumour.

Yes all very confusing cloak 'n dagger stuff. German media are supposedly saying Leeds have a deal for him for about 5million. (Id originally read 16million was the ask - which Leeds would never pay for a backup keeper.)

Personally I dont understand it. Seems like another Perri to me, so why all the effort - unless Perri wants to go to play more football - like Seb??

Gruev is perfect as the compliment to Ampau in the pivot. I can see him used in that role again this season as we got over run in midfield a bit too much with Aaronson playing the 10 on Saturday...

To be honest, I would rather see players like Chadwick, Cresswell, Chamber, and Lienou all get a full run out in the cup, especially given they have not been loaned out to gain first team experience.
Just training with the first team will not help their development without game time, so use this as a chance to play them.
Other none starters from the weekend also need game time so they should also be played.
