Am I the only 1 who is slightly concerned with how quiet it has gone on transfers at mo ,personally I think we still need keeper ,LB and striker and time is running out.
Unless he is going to use cairns as back up keeper after his showings in pre season which were at best average at best .
I am glad it looks like he is keeping Tanaka I think he will do ok for us just needs to cut out stupid passes .

Just a RCB for me with a license to get forward when the opportunity arises. He has the skill set, pace, engine and recovery to play that role. Pretty much like Stones did for City for a few seasons.

Delap would be the perfect signing if we can get him cheapish and on a decent salary. I hate to think what Chelsea pay their tea ladies let alone quality footballers

Many who were on the receiving end of time-wasting tactics will be pleased. The Premier League announced changes to the laws which will be implemented during the upcoming season.

The biggest change will see a trial introduced to prevent tactical goalkeeper time-outs. It aims to prevent goalkeepers feigning injury to allow outfield players to speak with the manager or slow down the momentum of a match.

As part of the trial, if the game is stopped – or the restart is delayed – for an injury to a goalkeeper, his manager will have 10 seconds to nominate another player to leave the pitch for one minute after play has restarted. If no player has been selected within 10 seconds, the captain must leave the field.

Pro Ref, the organisation that manages match officials for the Premier League, says the trial ‘is designed to address occasions where goalkeeper injuries have been used to disrupt momentum, slow the game down or create opportunities for tactical instruction’.

A manager is unlikely to opt to lose a defender or midfielder for a minute, so in theory when a goalkeeper appears to need treatment, it will be for real.

There will also be a 10-second time limit for players to leave the field when substituted. If the time limit is exceeded, the substitute cannot enter until the first stoppage after one minute has elapsed.

We have the salary cap here in Australia but clubs find their way around it .
I think it wasn’t allowed in Europe as it was considered a restriction of earnings.

No. not worried one bit. I know the 49'ers are a bit hush-hush with their business sometimes. I'm sure they know our needs and are working diligently on it...

I'm not worried...I'd much rather business is done behind close doors. There will be a plan of action be worked and it's good news it's not being shared with the world.

For the most part the business has been open most of the time. We've known about interest a couple of weeks before signings at least. Almost impossible to do business behind closed doors these days, too many moving parts. We knew about Elvedi a week before he signed, Trafford was linked for a month, Muha a couple of weeks...

I'd be very surprised a new player comes in from nowhere by the weekend, it's very quiet on the rumoured player front atm
