But only because there was an assassination attempt on him. I didn't expect the topic to rumble and grumble on....and on....and on....and on....
I'm only here because it did rumble on and on. I generally lurk here because it's a good source of info. on Leeds United and they're not exactly a household name in the US. It's been many years since I visited the Gelderd End, but I hold a tremendous soft spot for the team- I still wear my Leeds United scarf on chilly days and occasionally listen to Amanda Palmer's (Dresden Dolls) Leeds United song :)

Credit, where credit is due. Praise for Donald Trump for spearheading the covid vaccine at record speed.

During the height of the COVID pandemic, the former president's administration led Operation Warp Speed, which led to the creation and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines at a record speed.
Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla on Wednesday defended the development of Covid vaccinations, including Pfizer’s own, suggesting that they should have won President Trump a Nobel Peace Prize.
”Bourla said in a statement made public on Pfizer’s website that hundreds of studies documenting the benefits of the vaccines and Operation Warp Speed, the U.S. program that backed the development of Covid immunizations and therapies, have already been made publicly available. He called the development of the shots a “profound public health achievement.”
“Under President Trump’s leadership, American innovation led the world, helping prevent economic collapse and saving more than 14 million lives globally,” Bourla said. “Operation Warp Speed restored consumer confidence, saved over $1 trillion in health care costs due to reductions in serious illness and avoidance of hospitalizations, and rapidly scaled up domestic production. This American leadership also delivered a new platform that may drive significant innovation in cancer research.”

I'm not seeing Biden's or Faucci's name mentioned here. (must be some kind of error as everyone knows they are to blame).

Wow! I'd never heard of the Amanda Palmer Leeds Utd song. Gave it a YouTube viewing and my first impressions were cool. But....after a few listens and viewing, its fab!! Seems that she ha a quick fling with Ricky Wilson of the Kaiser Chiefs, came to his Leeds flat a he gave her a Leeds United 'Jersey'. She wore it on stage but got too hot, took off the 'Jersey', at the end of her gig went back on stage to find it, cleaners everywhere and no Leeds utd Jersey to be found anywhere. She was so upset about it that she wrote this song.
I think you should post a new topic with a you tube video of the song so that the Leeds fans who haven't heard of it can see and hear it.... go on, do it :)

Sure, why not. I lived on Cambridge st. Arlington MA, just over the town border from Lexington, and a trip down the street to Cambridge, from late 1999 to 2004, just as Amanda F. was doing the club scene, and my ex-wife took me to see the Dresden Dolls at some restaurant or other in Cambridge. She thought that our sharing the last name was cool. I can't say I was impressed, but "Leeds United" struck home some years later when I had left Boston and was in Greensboro- dating my present wife.
Do the mods allow the creation of such a thread and the posting of a Youtube video?

It's an amazing coincidence how many people Donny knows who are wronguns.

Wonder what will happen to Rush Hour 4 which Donny apparently personally pushed Paramount for and for his good friend to direct?

Folks, let me tell you, Gianni Infantino is a winner, a total winner. Incoruptable. He runs FIFA like a champ, the World Cup was the greatest, most beautiful tournament ever... thanks to the close friendship I have with him.

So I'm nominating him for UN Secretary-General. This guy's gonna kick the UN into shape,.. no more losers talking, and getting nowhere, no more UN resolution that never achieve anything. we're gonna have goals, lots of goals the best goals, probably the best goals in the whole of the UN history... and penalties for the bad guys, no more veto powers except for Merika of course, and tremendous deals, and tariffs, the biggest and the best. No more moving the goalponsts. And I'll see if I can get Sir Alex Ferguson in as his deputy. The United Nations will be yuge again! Believe me!!! OK???

"People ask me all the time, 'Sir, how do you avoid cyclospora?' Very simple... wash your salad. Nobody washes lettuce better than me. Don't trust sneaky raspberries, cilantro or basil unless they've been cleaned properly, and if you're travelling, drink safe water. I see people putting mystery ice cubes in their drinks... total disaster. Then they wonder why things go very, very badly. Sad!

And if you do get cyclospora... believe me, when they say 'explosive diarrhoea,' they mean it. There's nothing peaceful about it. One minute you're doing great, the next you're running to the bathroom like it's the Olympic final.

So don't negotiate with your intestines... they never keep their promises. Clean food, clean water, good hygiene, and always know where the nearest restroom is. Tremendous!"

My advice is to listen to Adele
