I watched a YouTube highlights reel and I wasn't impressed. And YouTube can make anyone look like Messi.

Not all, not me, and it's not even being contrary. I posted my wish to get Charles very early. Everyone else is contrary

Charles - yes
Suzuki - yes assuming we can get a refund on Perri
Wilson - No
Elvedi - No

Brandt

I'm perfectly happy if we sign Charles, said elsewhere I think he has potential to be much more than a holding midfielder (in fact I think playing him in that role limits him same as Tanaka).

Just don't think big money on an as yet unproven player when other needs are greater is smart ?

It seems we want to spend £60m on a keeper and a relatively unproven midfielder, which concerns me a bit given we were told things would be tight this summer. If we get Brandt on a free, to go along with Wilson, it may turn out to be a great strategy.

We still need to find a new CB though.

Have doubts about Wilson and don't expect to get Brandt

But if we did then that hopefully gives us some open play creativity (which we desperately lack).

Then we need to replace Struijk.

Then a striker and a goalie imo

Those 3 are where we need to spend the money.

Charles just seems a signing for the sake of it atm, where does he even play?

Even if DF goes back to a back 4 and ploddyball (he shouldn't) but even if he does we have Stach and Ampadu who are basically sure starts

So at most 1 position available? And that's only If DF doesn't want to shoehorn his beloved Aaronson in.

Charles probably should be the Gruev replacement imo but that's a lot of money for that role.

Nico Raskin been listed by Rangers at 25m, Hull City likely to move for him. I’ve watched him regularly and I’d much rather him than Charlie Boy.

I thought we were ... TBH I don't think any fan knows where any club stands atm or indeed which version of "fair play" is being used this season.

Shouldn't matter, the money a team has to spend is 80% of their revenue. So ticket sales/merch/tv earnings and player sales.

If Elon Musk owned Hull he'd have to build and fill a 100k stadium, keep them in the prem, while making them a world wide brand before they could spend big money

They will have money. You get the tv rights etc, which is considerably more than as a championship club. Their wagebill will likely be extremely low given that they were almost relaint on free signings and loan players and it is doubtful they signed players and gave them lucrative prem wage rises as they were likely more concerned about relegation than promotion. As such they likely have a fair amount of money available to spend.

Are we still talking about this tw@t? This is the type of signing we will be making in 2 or 3 years once we are established in the Premiership. But for now, consolidation and rebuilding is the priority. With the financial restrictions in place, we have to spend our allocation/allowance (because that's what it is) wisely! Overpaying for a young kid with promise is not a good purchase at this time. Move on Leeds...
