Great news. I've always thought we should have something like that. If we have 20k on the waiting list, it's a good way to let fans experience a match day atmosphere.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 4:21 am Leeds are planning a fan park at Elland Road for 2000 people. I’d doubt it, I think the 3pm ban still applies. Don’t think any other clubs have showed them.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 9:15 am Be interesting to see if they are allowed to screen Saturday 3pm games live.

Never thought about that, you mean fans go for a beer etc but don’t go to the game.
They could easily do that, and watch it in there when it’s on SKY etc.

Also of interest, the Moot have announced planning permission has been granted for a second floor to be opened above the current bars. Premier league football is a catalyst for city economic growth.

Well at the moment you can't broadcast live games on Sky at 3pm on a Saturday in the UK. The difference would be if the fans park can get a way around that.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 10:10 am Never thought about that, you mean fans go for a beer etc but don’t go to the game.

Would imagine it to be a way to make fans spend more money that goes directly to the club, fans buying, drinks, food, merchadising etc there rather than from non club related outlets. Makes it so more fans come early rather than turn up, go in, watch the match, go home. Ultimately you would think the club wants a match to almost become like a whole day event, families coming spending money, various entertainment. Then you want to have it so people come on non matchdays too. Otherwise you only have 19 times each year (plus cup matches) where revenue would be limited to probably around a 3 or 4 hour period - so you have 346 days a year where you have stadium and facilities that are just doing nothing, multiple car parks empty, land just being wasted for those 346 days etc.

This to me looks like they’re going to follow Box Park business model. Not just matchdays but screening England games, boxing and live bands etc to keep the £££ coming inweasel wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 12:51 pm Would imagine it to be a way to make fans spend more money that goes directly to the club, fans buying, drinks, food, merchadising etc there rather than from non club related outlets. Yeah and stuff like say the Leeds game kicks off at 5pm and there is a game on before and after. People can get there early, chill and watch an early gamethen head into the ground. SImilarly after the Leeds match, watch another game rather than being stuck in traffic.rich_leeds64 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 12, 2026 10:05 am This to me looks like they’re going to follow Box Park business model. It is a way of capturing the market. Similar to how in airports you are limited to the airport shops once you get there.

The West Stand looks pretty much like in the the 60/70s (minus the blue Leeds United afc facade)
Although I do want it replaced, part of me will be sad that another part of my childhood has changed.
I’m finding the videos strangely engrossing and I didn’t think I would yet.
Once the real building work starts it should look amazing.

Re: West Stand Redevelopment
The West Stand was usually the easiest for us to get tickets for Finn so I know how you feel but like me it got more decrepit every season and those seats needed a health warning. Looking forward to the new stand although I probably won’t be able to afford a ticket by then.Finnatic wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2026 2:47 pm The West Stand looks pretty much like in the the 60/70s (minus the blue Leeds United afc facade)
