Leeds Welsh, like London Welsh, especially if Darlow plays
As Adam said expect its back to back 4 ploddyball.

Wilson right, 10, Okafor.

We never learn. It's been 3 years and no one wants Harrison and we've got another 3 years of James on big wages.

I really hope Gnonto isn't sold to pay for this, but he will be.

If we get Charles, and I really want Charles, he'll take Gruev's place

Harry is a massive improvement on all three of those you've mentioned & Aaronson.

Fulham's best player last season.

Remember! we signed Strachan when he was 32.

Wilson is only 29 & in his prime!

I have six so far on my Whatsapp group who are over the moon with the signing of Wilson, five of them attend games at ER.

He's different to what we have Wilson, he's left footed, good shot on him and good set piece.

The fact he's never been quick or skillful or dynamic may help as he ages because you can't lose what you never had.

So hopefully his game intelligence shines through and he offers us something different.

He wouldn't by my choice, his wages will be absolutely huge (it's why he ran down his deal and Villa backed off) and I just am not keen on being players pushing 30.

He is atm 1 season wonder, not a criticism just true (until last season his record in the Prem was worse than Jack Harrison was with us).

So it's a concern.

But he ticks a box and hopefully last season wasn't a one off.

He’s a decent, proven premier league player in his prime what’s not to like? If he does sign I’ll be delighted- first on the board of what I hope will be a busy and ambitious window.

You were doing so well until the whispering Jack comment, Cjay.

Were you not keen on Stachan who was 32 when we signed him?

All top Premier League players are expensive, it's not as if we've paid £40m plus for him.

I agree with the rest of your post.

Ooh! a proper skilful No.10, with the pace of Okafor up front.

I'm looking foward to the season already, after making only one signing.

Always a good idea to find stats or points of view that support your view - doesn't matter that they are completey irrelevant....

Yeah always came accross as a player who likes to be the centre of attention, the star man.

I really don't know why people are getting het up about the wages or length of contract. Even if he is on £100k per week and on a 4 year deal that is the equivalent of £20.8m. So say instead of signing Wilson we splashed £20.8m on a signing. That player would also want wages. that sort of money paid so I would think the player would be on a minimum of £50k per week so on a 4 year deal, including the transfer fee, that would be £31.2m in total

And given the financial rules it is a great move as it equates to just the actual wages. The club seems to be being run very sensibly.

Wilson on a free, Darlow hopefully stays, frees up kitty for better quality than we could afford otherwise.

Brandt isn’t coming, and with Wilson in we don’t need him,

We can sit back now till later in the window and see who becomes available - especially if Shea Charles agrees a deal while the World Cup is still on.
