First really poor performance in a while aside from Arsenal.

Game of fine margins. Penalty was a stupid mistake compounded by Darlow not saving a very poor spot kick. They didn’t offer much, defended well and threw in plenty of dhithousery.

We were very disjointed up front - not sure there is a point to long throw ins if Bijol isn’t on the pitch he is by far the biggest threat aerially.

I agree with the comments about Gruev - besides blocking a cross all I remember about his time on the pitch is passing back to the keeper and whispering to Stach.

Gruev was in his element last night passing sideways & backwards to Darlow, Karl had more touches than some of outfield players. He offers very little!

Playing two DMs at home is crazy, ditch him & play one of our wingers, James or Gnonto.

We passed the ball back to Darlow 88 times.

Farke has to ask himself some serious questions about how we set up. Plan A was awful and Plan B didn’t deliver either.
We don’t have the bench depth to go to Plan C when the need arises. Needs to be addressed in the Summer.

That's the thing isn't it ? A player who lacks the flair to play to a decent PL standard can make it look as though he is of some value through simply passing the ball sideways and backwards. And DF probably loves it.

He struggles under a press and tends to be rather static positionally when we try to play out. Given space and facing up the pitch he can be rather potent as we have seen in recent weeks. But this has always been my concern, those types of games are not very frequent at this level.

I hope you are correct, I just envision them taking an early lead and hanging on - didn’t think I’d be cheering on a palace win a few weeks ago but also be good to see them win on Thursday. It would be one of the most shocking things in football in recent times if spurs were to go down.

I thought James made a difference, he put a superb low ball into the box, nobody there to tap it in.

James and Gnonto did, they are danger men that we are completely bereft of without one or both in the side. They don’t fit with ploddy ball as some have termed it so they won’t see a start in the league for the rest of the season.
