I think Longstaff against stronger teams. Tanaka against weaker teams.White Riot wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 3:48 pm If Tanaka gets fit then Longstaff is just a substitute imo, he's a limited player.

Was never going to happen unless we were a long way down imo..

We have defended pretty well today.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 3:50 pm Apart from their goal their chances haven't been too clear cut. Lots of high balls into the box. But positionally Strujik, Rodon, and Ampadu have been strong and made every chance difficult
Just a shame we were asleep for their goal, we can't afford moments like that at this level cos you get punished every time.

Full credit to both. Stach struggled a bit over the past 3 games. But excellent today.

A must win game that we’ve won. Mustn’t grumble.

Maybe, but Tanaka is comfortable with the ball and will give us a link to the forwards to relieve the pressure.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 3:51 pm I think Longstaff against stronger teams. Tanaka against weaker teams.
For me Ampadu and Tanaka start every match if they are fit.

That used to happen with Strachan.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 3:51 pm It was probably in their pregame notes since he was excellent the previous 2 games. So they figured he must be playing well today.
Sunday papers had him MOTM nine times out of ten.

Big win in a must win game and slightly improve the GD. Up to 9th for now.

I agree we were in disarray for the goal
Surprised that Wolves have just resorted to pumping the ball into the box when they cut us open so easily playing it in earlier

I wonder if the Wolves coach gets sacked if they would bring Nuno back?
While he's still available.

I think Longstaff is a poor man's Stach and we don't need both on the pitch at the same time.White Riot wrote: ↑Sat Sep 20, 2025 3:55 pm Maybe, but Tanaka is comfortable with the ball and will give us a link to the forwards to relieve the pressure.
