Pre match Derby chat

Post by Cjay »

Only played them 3 weeks ago so not going into detail

Nice win vs a Corberanless Wba today.

Decent home record, 20 points from 11 games.

19 scored which is pretty high, top 6 for goals scored at home.

Would be nice to get a back to back away win, many of our rivals are playing eachother atm.

An opportunity.

Not many days rest so could we see some changes?

Ampadu keep his place or does Tanaka come back in?

Farke likes to rotate the wingers so could we see Gnonto or Ramazani come in?

I expect a tougher game than the one at ER recently. Despite them not offering anything much on that day they should have noted some things in the match that may have worked well for them and things that they need to avoid doing again. Hopefully we put in a professional display and don't take it lightly. A winning run, similar to the one we went on last year (or even the one under Bielsa pre-covid) should see us open up a gap, even if not a gap to all teams probably at least a gap to 3rd.

Will be interesting to see how Derby approach this at home. For example Stoke last night were very aggressive at pressing us in our own half and it played right into our hands as we were mostly able to play through it and then launch some very dangerous attacks into the space behind. Where we've struggled away from home is against sides who sit deeper and allow our centre backs us cheap and easy possession and then we have to play through the entire team of the opposition with only half a pitch to do so.
