We are NOT finishing in the top 2

Post by pjm2019 »

if we play like we did yesterday as per DF set up. He can not change his formation or Tactics as he does not know how so the ONLY way for us to be in the top 2 at the end of the season is to get a Proven number 9 the first week of jan 2025 as we currently miss so many chances to score

We desperately need to find a PL loanee No.9 to ensure promotion.

9 goals in 21 games from our three strikers is not good enough.

I don't trust any of them, the only position in our squad that isn't working efficiently.

The 49ers are using AI to review team performance, player performance, and "game plans". It is difficult for me to imagine what conclusions were drawn after evaluating (for example) QPR away (April 2024) or Preston away (yesterday). But we should know soon if urgent action is deemed necessary.

That could be a "Prem striker", in January. Or it could be a dramatic intervention of a different nature.

Getting a proven number 9 & 10 is hardly simple pjm.
They dont just hang around on street corners.
And your insistence in relieving Farke of his duties is all very well but who would you replace him with? We are talking January here. Not exactly spoilt for choice.
And dont quote me that its not your job. You keep saying it so come on. Who???

I read in the YEP that they took the games up to Christmas for the top teams and calculated an average of the opposition.

So if your opponents were in the top half of the table the difficulty fell around 8, and if the opposition was from the bottom half it was roughly around 17. Leeds were 16.8

The higher the number the easier the challenge, and the lower the number the harder the games would be.

If I remember correctly Leeds had one of the easier run ins towards Christmas, and based on this, the prospect of remaining in the top 2 remains great with present team and manager.

IMO we will finish in the top 2, Amps is coming back in, with hopefully a slight change to the formation, Aaronson dropped with Rothwell, or Gnonto at No10.

Would love us to get a top quality No9, but I don't think we have the money to get someone whose proven at this level so it's a punt on someone from lower level or from overseas, either way we'll still need Joseph and Piroe to start chipping in with goals. Again IMO we should give Joseph a run starting, he should have started yesterday and I think it may have been a different game.

I'm certainly not in the Farke out brigade but I do have concerns with his sticking with certain players no matter what and his infuriating subs at 70mins. I said before yesterday's game, when I saw the line up, oh Willy's getting hooked at 70mins again!

To manage a 1 city club with a decent sized stadium, plans to increase to over 50K. A very loyal and vocal fan base, high priced match tickets, the most watched championship team on Sky. We should be able to entice a much higher profile manager for example

Graham Potter
Carlos Corberan
Even Ole Solskjaer

I would also change formation for the fist half of away matches

1GK
3 cb
2wb
2 midfield
2 wingers
1centre forward

and we have the players right now to play this formation and if scores are level at HT we can change wingers, go to a back 4 etc but our current manager does not have the vision

All the teams around us won again plus Blackburn are now in the mix it's very tight at the top and the gap I hope we might have at this point in the season had not materialised.

Promotion is not looking as nailed on as some predicted imo.

What have those three achieved?

So Carlos has worked under Marcelo.

We won't be getting Bielsa football under the boring draw specialist Coberan, you can think again!

Pjm wanted Farke sacked when we were top of the league, 2nd is an absolute disaster. ;-)

He's got to handle the Christmas period better.

Such is the tightness of the top half a similar outcome to last season we could easily be out of the playoffs never mind top 2 on January 1st.

Dont forget if we go up then next season will be far more stressful. May as well enjoy getting there.

I think thats a bit unfair on Lord Farke.
Boro, Swansea. Probably a few others but I forget tbh.
If you fell asleep in those games I’d be surprised.
Funnily enough I’d be fascinated to see Sir Lord Farke MBE in the PL. I love the idea of him proving the doubters wrong.
Including me btw.

Can't do your health or anyone else on here who are constantly posting negativity.

I had to immediately go out for a long walk after the final whistle to rid all the anger & despair I felt about so many aspects of that game yesterday. I wanted nothing to do with football for a couple of hours as I needed to refresh my mind & mood walking through rural Yorkshire. Likewise, I felt so much better than coming on here ranting & raving with my frustrations!

I don't dwell on it funnily enough.

Once I turn the tele off or put my phone down on here I move on.

Then I say my bit on here and so on.

I can honestly say it doesn't bother me on a day to day basis, this club been crap basically my whole life
