Strangely it could have been five and yet they were so dangerous but only had one accurate shot which led to the corner for the OG.
Some great last minute defending by us was the reason for that.

I've given it to Tanaka.

Four of them in particular - Millwall, Bristol City, West Brom and Blackburn, which is baffling when you see how dominant we are at home. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 9:59 pm This season, there's no one has our quality. Doaks was technically a shot, he did get a touch before Mes

I agree. I’ve watched Sheffield United, Burnley, Boro, Sunderland and we are by far the better squad, the only team who can prevent us going up this year is ourselvesThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 9:59 pm This season, there's no one has our quality. I think we're too negative away from ER... we're sometimes a bit negative at home

He touched the ball forwards, not a threatening shot for meThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 10:04 pm Doaks was technically a shot, he did get a touch before Mes

Sunderland, Ipswich, Leicester and possibly Norwich from last season were all a lot better than anyone in this division this season. Not including Leeds.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 10:05 pm I agree. Best players for me today. Tanaka, Aaronson, and Meslier. With special mention for Dan James and Joel Piroe.

Didn't Piroe do well
Enjoyed that.
Really pleased we got the win.
Wober handled Doak really well I felt, Tanaka and Rothwell were immense in midfield and Aaronson played his part.
James was immense and Gnonto did well for his goal.
Meslier had some crucial moments as well.
Big test passed.

Weird, thought they were the best side we've faced, but had we taken our chances, we could've scored 5 or 6. Great win and an important win, but we need to back it up at Preston and start putting a run together, especially as Burnley dropped points.
James motm and my player of the season so far. Yes he can frustrate with his finishing and running, but he's added a lot to his game.
Another excellent tackle from Byram to set up the second. Shame he's made of hobnobs, as he's comfortably our best full back.
Thought Mes was excellent today. That save from Doak won us the game.
Unfortunately Joseph isn't good enough to play as a lone striker. I'd rather see Bamfraud, and that's saying something. Definitely need to sign one in January though.
Preston will be another ugly, physical game.

Think Doak is over rated

Can't start Bamford .. can't be relied on to finish a game. Joseph did alright and no Joseph we don't score the firstSG90 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 10:10 pm Weird, thought they were the best side we've faced, but had we taken our chances, we could've scored 5 or 6. He's alright, but like most young players, gets hyped up for doing one decent thing. The fact he's from Liverpool probably adds to the overhype too.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 10:10 pm Think Doak is over rated

Re: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough Match Thread
Posted earlier he's been superb since Sunderland. Handling has improved, distribution and when needed, which is not often, he's produced good saves. He seems to be commanding his area well now
Sky Sports still whining about the pen which was a just a theatrical dive
