Rovers are not good, they did a job on us. which we have witnessed a few times previously.

I thought Bamford was the best answer on the day. Piroe wasn't involved and Joseph hasn't delivered in front of goal yet.Broad Ford wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:05 pm I was thinking 1-0 blackburn on the way home from work. I got home, loaded in the stream on 75 mins and checked the odds.
1-0 was 1.5 and the 1-1 was 3.1 I gave it a miss.
Whatever happened to doing plan A better, because there is no plan B? Is overloading the attack part of plan A or DF's desperate attempt at salvaging a point? Bamford is not the answer, but the January transfer window is and the board needs to invest based on this result.

I wouldn't discredit Blackburn. Could be 6th with their game in hand. But we should be better with the quality we have. We need to be coming away from these games at least with a point.
Let's hope we don't meet Blackburn in the playoffs (cheeky comment)

Not for me. We'd need to be at least 10 points ahead of third before the run in, as otherwise we have no chance. Can't see that happening with the blunts and Burnley winning every week.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:15 pm Too early in the season to be scoreboard watching. Although I am scoreboard watching.
We need to be 2 ppg and not worry about everyone else

But we supposedly have the best squad and best manager in the league, yet need to rely on other sides to help us? If we did, the results elsewhere shouldn't matter to us.

Noone is winning every week it is the nature of sport sides can hit a rich vein of form.
Blunts have been on a good run since we beat them.
Burnley have also come good.
All that means is that they are slighly ahead of us.
And I see you expect that Leeds will run out of steam, but you cant be sure that we will

The frustrating part is that we're better than SheffU and Burnley. Yet both (on current score line) are ahead of us. Sheff United 5 points ahead of us. We are a better team which is what makes our 1.9 ppg so frustrating.Irish Ian wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:36 pm Noone is winning every week it is the nature of sport sides can hit a rich vein of form.

Tbf their player was probably not aware of Firpo coming in on the blind side. He was reaching for a miscontrolled ball. Firpo nipped and stole it. It wasn’t a a big physical challenge. Firpo did what a lot of modern players do leg clutched and made more of it than the foul deserved. The ref wasn’t mugged by Firpo’s reaction.
But you are right another ref may have given a red but I thought it was only a yellow.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd Match Thread
It is frustrating I agree. It always has been, teams always up their game playing us, especially at home, apart from their local derbies it is their biggest game of the season. It is as if we need to be twice as good as the oppo raise their game in front of their home fans.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:40 pm The frustrating part is that we're better than SheffU and Burnley. That has and always will be tough.
And it is just 3 points behind SheffU? Or are you counting the two points they were deducted?
Now we have a week to recover before the next round of three games a week madness begins.
Our players really need a rest

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd Match Thread
The more I think about it, the fact that it was Blackburn today was a bit incidental, we've seen that picture show many times before in recent seasons.
Any team that scores and shuts up shop can beat us on regular occasions, we're consistent in a bad way.
The Groundhog-Day aspect is the most frustrating element for me, every team will lose the odd game, but when it happens I feel early on that there's only one possible outcome.
Aaarrrggghhhhh.
