Blunts did us a favour yesterday. 2nd place looking good (as long as Stoke hold Burnley)John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:52 pm I guess on the bright side we're still sitting second while Sheffield United have been on quite the hot streak (17 points from 21). Where were we relative to the top two this time last year?
We had better beat Derby next weekend, though.

We wpoldn't have scored had the ref added on ninety minutes.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:19 pm Nine minutes added
More like seven when Blackburn quit stalling
All our shots/header were straight at the keeper.
Rothwell puts the corner on Pascal's head & the dozy fruitcake heads straight at Pears.
Struijk totally outdone for the build-up for their goal too.

Shudda
Thought the ref was guessing a lot today.
Aaronson fouled in box before Bogle was called offside - looked way worse than penalty they got. Aaronson was also shouldered hard in the chest than called for a foul against.
Not blaming him for bias. Just totally inept. I really thought their late chance when striker rounded keeper was onside - Striker was past closest defender. But defender on far right looked level.
The fact we had more of the ball and more of the chances just seemed to make more of the decisions go against us

I'm not sure. Sunderland have never been the team to beat for me, blunts winning again makes them harder to catch. A draw or Sunderland win would've been the better result.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:00 pm Blunts did us a favour yesterday. 2nd place looking good (as long as Stoke hold Burnley)

Should have been, but the referee was always going to give a yellow card.

Yes OB, Farke & his players need to take a long hard look at themselves today.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:19 pm Farke spending more time remonstrating with the fourth official than sorting his team out. Get a grip man.

We don't get enough 'cheap' goals from corners or free kicks, like the other sides do. Another season with the midfield and defence contributing very little goals wise is also another issue.1964white wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 4:01 pm We wpoldn't have scored had the ref added on ninety minutes.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd Match Thread
I was thinking 1-0 blackburn on the way home from work. I got home, loaded in the stream on 75 mins and checked the odds.
1-0 was 1.5 and the 1-1 was 3.1 I gave it a miss.
Whatever happened to doing plan A better, because there is no plan B? Is overloading the attack part of plan A or DF's desperate attempt at salvaging a point? Bamford is not the answer, but the January transfer window is and the board needs to invest based on this result.

We had 3 clear cut chances today.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 3:55 pm I thought he had a good game. But rushed the chances he had. I can think of 5 and you'd think he could have made better with at least one. The first one was clear on the keeper and he seemed to rush it
Surprised he came off as he'd been our biggest threat the whole game
They had three including what would happened without Tanaka's last ditch bundle for the prem after Firpo/Struijk lost the attacker.
Struijk/Gnonto just wow to their chances. Can't be doing it as a top side and expect to turn possession into wins.

I agree, should have been red, uncontrolled flying tackle. We still wouldn't have been able to score though, even if they had 10 men. We were poor today.
Their keeper was also looking nervy first half, but not really tested.

And you'd think for having more possession and more touches in the box, we'd score as many, if not more, cheap goals than anyone
