Agreed.JoeDenver wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 2:19 pm It was a suspicion I had at the beginning of the match, but this first half confirmed things. Think Farke got the lineup entirely wrong today. Don’t understand why Solomon was taken off in favor of James. Aaronson has been overdue for a sit (could’ve played Solomon or Willy here) And Piroe was always has a poor game following a good game. With all the running he did last game, a quiet showing was inevitable.
Brendan Aaronson and Joel Piroe off at HT for me…replaced by Solomon and Joseph.
And if Tanaka and Firpo are going to still struggle, Gialavogi and Wober on for them.
My two cents…

We've been off a bit. Lots of possession. But Blackburn had better of game.
Early start maybe not doing us any favours
Referee has been awful. Decisions have absolutely gone against us

Might aswell bring old biscuits legs on for the second half if our number one option is a high ball into the box. Couple of decent balls in during the first half but only midgets in there

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd Match Thread
Blackburn done a number on us.
Happy to let us have our meaningless possession in useless areas, as soon as it goes into the threatening areas where we are also really narrow they snap in.
Look a well organised team with a smart gameplan, break quickly
We are going to have to be braver with our passing and faster imo.
And would he nice if we could cross first time occasionally, the amount of times player is in behind half a yard but cuts back is infuriating.

I'll go against the grain and say in that Piroe is doing ok, nearly every pass he has made has gone to the player or into space for the payer to run onto. He's had no service as the striker.
I agree about Aaronson, brushed off the ball too easily.

The away form is concerning, lose or draw today and it's one win in over two months..Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 2:24 pm Blackburn done a number on us.

Eustace beat us both times last season with two different squads…suspect he might have Farke’s numberCjay wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 2:24 pm Blackburn done a number on us.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd Match Thread
It is half time, 1 goal in it. Some of the reactions are are rather OTT to me.
Give credit to Blackburn they have done their homework. Up to DF to counteract their game plan.
Rami on the left is probably more suited to get the best out of Firpo offensively. What we are witnessing defensively from him is no different to any game he plays in. He is very rarely the first contact player. Opposition Pace will always be a problem for us on that side.

Could be.
We all knew how they'd play it, wasn't a secret.

I think we’ve benefitted tremendously with Brendan in the lineup. He’s kind of our Energizer Bunny. He just looks tired by his standard. No battery life left with that bunny…

The winger rotation has been premeditated. I correctly called the lineup on Wednesday and again today. Very predictable.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Leeds Utd Match Thread
Blackburn came out lively. Got their goal and then went into the bunker. They have been pretty organized behind the ball for most of the 1st half.
We look completely disorganized. I agree with those calling for changes. Aaronson looks tired. And why is it that our striker keeps dropping back and delivering crosses? It would be helpful if he were in the penalty box trying to get on the end of things.

This was always going to be a tough game and the majority of our players haven't turned up. Once again, looking vulnerable at the back and also being out muscled in the centre of the park. He needs bring some fresh legs on at half time rather than later. Blackburn have stuck to their plan well.
