Comfortably the worst I’ve seen for some time, they didn’t seem to have any sort of plan.

Nevertheless, they were atrocious.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 9:31 pm They've got 3 points more than Portsmouth. And they're level on points with relegated Luton.
Still waiting for the first team to impress me in the championship.

I think Sunderland gave us a good game. We almost won that one. But a draw seemed fair on reflection. That was the away game. I'd expect to beat them at ER.
Of the top 4, Burnley beat us but we really deserved to win that one. And we beat Sheff U easily.

I made the same point earlier, that Farke doesn't rush players in unless he has to.
But with Schmidt it's starting to be a question. There were easy minutes for him today. If you're trying to introduce a player or get him to fitness, today was the ideal game. We know Byram is a niggle waiting to happen. 10 or 15 minutes at the end would have made sense.
Starting to think either Schmidt is carrying an injury or he's not showing Farke what he wants to see in training.

He just has....
You are not suggesting they start ahead of our experienced regular first-team players.
This was the game to bed them in, 3-0 up against one of the worst teams I've witnessed in the championship.

Did well after coming on, going to be good for us as his fitness improves.

How have you got that from what I said?
I'm glad he gave them a chance.

Reminiscent of the muppets who suggested that we'd have done better towards the end of Bielsa's regime if we'd adopted park the bus tactics. Park the bus and if you concede early then the whole gameplan is gone and then it is just a matter of how many you concede.

Good points Ian. I agree. But if this game was the last day of the season, Burnley only have to win their game in hand by 3 goals and they leapfrog us for auto promotion. Goal difference can be invaluable.Irish Ian wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:24 pm Is it worth the risks? Big game this week.
Remember Marsch bringing on Rodrigo when we were 3-0 up away to Accrington Stanley and him getting an ankle injury? Two months out.
The lads managed the game perfectly today imo, did the hard work, took little risk (Struijk apart) and won the game at a canter.
You can only win 3 points no matter how great the goal margin.
That more tired you are the greater injury risk and the recovery time is longer.
Millwall away next Wednesday.
