Where to live near Scunthorpe?

Post by mav »

There is a slim possibility I may be moving job to Scunny in the near future, after years of hour plus commuting I don't want to travel far.

Where is the best (least bad?) place around there to live?
Every game I predict a 3 - 1 Leeds win, I am traditional like that.

Haven't seen you on here for a couple of years, Mav.

Sorry, I don't know the Scunthorpe area, apart from a few visits to their football stadium.

This link may help you.

Turns out there’s a Reddit thread on this very question. Depends on what you want I suppose - quiet village or good schools. Try Facebook, see if there’s a Scunthorpe Grumbler site or similar. Good luck - I used to visit Scunthorpe for work and quite liked it.

If someone gave me a blank map of England and a pin I'm not sure I'd know where to start. Something tells me north Midlands but could be miles out

Around 40 minutes, or so, away from me Scunthorpe.

I used to have a client there several years ago, so used to go there fairly regularly, but it was a simple in and out for a client meeting.

From memory, I believe there are one or two really nice surrounding villages.

Probably on the outskirts.

Scunny is a bit of a dump.

I know The Honest Lawyer was a decent pub. Not far from the station.
