Does it get much worse as a football player to be in a side beaten by San Marion :)

Brazil suffered their fourth defeat in five qualifying games with a 1-0 loss to Paraguay as Argentina were beaten 2-1 by Colombia in the latest qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup.

The result leaves five-time world champions Brazil fifth in the qualifying table with only three wins from eight games.

Would be a massive shock if Brazil failed to qualify for the next World Cup.

Rapha has 8 goals or assists for Barcelona already this season at a rate of 1 every 55 minutes.

For comparison Lionel Messi in his last season was every 80 minutes.

Admittedly Messi was well into his 30s and Raph is in his prime but way to go Raph

Love to see Raph doing well, we were lucky to have him, if only fleetingly. I've seen more than one report since his move suggesting he could be sold, but I'm guessing that's more to do with Barca's finances than him not delivering. Which he obviously is!

Kjetil knutsen well on his way to a 4th league title in 6 years at a club who had never won one when he arrived.

More impressive are things he's done over the years vs far bigger teams in Europe.

Last Wednesday he beat Porto 3-2 despite playing most of the 2nd half with 10 men.

Why he's never taken the plunge at a bigger opportunity who knows, he's had offers.

But the guy knows how to squeeze a lot out of very little.

Andrés Iniesta- Retired

Post by Cjay »

Football icon Andrés Iniesta will retire 8th October.

The now 40 year old Spanish midfielder has had an interesting end to his career since leaving Barcelona 6 years ago.

Majority of those years was spent in Japan playing for Vissel Kobe where he helped them to a League title and a few other trophies.

His final season has been in the UAE for top division side Emirates.

Best known of course for his 16 year spell at Spanish giants Barcelona where he was a key part in what many consider the greatest club side of certainly the modern era, potentially all time.

He formed the iconic and highly successful midfield trio of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta which would prove very successful internationally as well with a World Cup in 2010 (Iniesta scored the winner) and 2 European Championships in 2008 and 2012.

He is one of the most successful Club players ever with 37 trophies to his name.

So will he go down as a generational or all time great?

Does he rank above players like De Bruyne now?

Or Zidane?

Platini?
Was still pretty decent at 40 tbf

Inter Miami won a match vs Columbus 3-2 yesterday.

2 goals from Messi and 1 from Luis Suarez.

Inter Miami won the Supporters Shield which as I understand it is basically like the League title as in got most points.

Inter Miami were bottom of the MLS when Messi arrives, they are now top with 2 major trophies.

Messi also overtook David Beckham for career free-kick goals with this last night

Real Madrid acknowledging the retirement of a Barcelona legend and praising him tells you everything.
