(Early today as I’m going to the Cardiff City Stadium later on this morning to watch a young lad (8/9yrs old, I think) who’s in the wife’s class at school signing for CCFC. I was the +1 on the invite he gave her and I’ve been told not to wear a Leeds shirt :). The young lad gets on well with Sarah (wife) as she can banter with the boys in the class about footie. During the season, for maths she’d put the Championship table up and get them to work out difference in pts, goals etc between teams. When they all moaned about not being able to see Cardiff on the screen, she’d say they were too low down, she was only showing the top half 😀)

Particularly poor day for, myself and 64

Running totals wise, Az is the new leader and Foxy jumps up a couple of places.

Well that didn't go well

All seven of my selections were 4/1 or under (four of them hot favourites), hence the reason I had a fiver wins on all of them.

Desert Hero, Big Rock, Wiltshire, Godwinson & Siyola only beat eleven horses to the post between them.

Absolute shocking statistics.

My theory is if in doubt always back the #1 horse..........they always seem to do well compared to other nos. It can't just be chance.

If you'd had £5 ew on the #1 runner in each race at Newbury today you'd have ended up £107.50 in profit

Interesting theory, Cat.
The only theory for number 1 doing well would be in handicaps where the top weight by definition is the best horse in the race. Other than that it’s pure chance.
Also of course number 1 is always in a race whereas say number 12 isn’t.

Are you trying to rubbish my theory before it’s gained any traction, Foxy :duno:

I’m going to put it to the test across today’s three U.K. meetings 👍
