Rooney gone!
John Eustace, was sacked on Monday after 15 months in charge.
Birmingham are 6th in Championship with 18 points from 11 games.
So why replace Eustace when the Blue noses are doing so well?
And the choice of new manager has to be puzzling.... Wayne Rooney has won nothing at the levels he has managed.
Is he the better man, I think not imo.
Its another high profile name that trades on their successful playing career.
How about getting Fwank in as assistant and you'll have a compete set...

They seem to have binned the old saying which is - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Another in a long, long line of Owners who want to stick a bloody great spanner in the works.

Re: Birmingham City Gamble On Wayne
This should go badly for Birmingham, Rooney doesn't seem to have the intelligence to be a good manager, too much ego to be a good coach and a lack of any real record of managerial success...
Should drop Brum down to a lower mid table team. But every once in a while something clicks into place so there's a touch of hope for Birmingham fans.

Not our club so not really bothered , but they did it before with Gary Rowett...in a good position and placed to challenge for play offs, again 6th I think....then they sack the manager . They are obviously completely insane considering their last few league placing . But .....Wayne Rooney ? Why ?

Re: Rooney gone!
Birmingham City have sacked manager Wayne Rooney after just 83 days in charge of the Championship club.
The 38-year-old was appointed on 11 October following the controversial decision to dismiss John Eustace, with Blues sixth in the table.
Since then, Blues have slipped to 20th, Monday's 3-0 loss at Leeds having been his ninth defeat in 15 games.
"Football is a results business and I recognise they've not been at the level I wanted them to be," Rooney said.

They didn't have a scooby what they were doing yesterday. He wasn't helped by their owner saying that he wanted style over Eustace substance when they appointed him. Rooney is not experience enough to adapt the right tactics to the capabilities of his squad. If Cooper wants another challenge so soon then he would be a good fit for them right now.

He ought to tell them to get stretched, they way they treated him, let them find another washed up has been, there are plenty about.
Rowett is a decent man, hope he ignores their plea.
