Not unexpected. Dallas saying he won't play this season

Well! That really ticks me off! How selfish of him when he's had all the support of Leeds United....fans, medical team, owners and his first thought is to play an international where he'll probably get crocked again. He should be aiming for pre-season with Leeds United not an international match

Re: Stuart Dallas
And me. International football is, as far as I'm concerned, much less strenuous than the Prem and seems an ideal way for Stuart to get match fit. Though I am slightly biased!!

Good on ya Stewart, get some pitch time and some much needed match fitness. Using the excuse that he might get injured again is just silly. He could just as well get injured in a pre season game for Leeds.
Will be nice to see him back in a N.I. shirt again

A football career is short. He may struggle with his fitness for a while - he is probably desperate to play football. I am sure if the club had any reservations about him playing the other night they would have blocked his inclusion. Not sure why it can be classed as selfish to want to play.

He didn't play the other night. He said he hope's to play the qualifiers in June. I think selfish because he should put the club who have supported him and paid his wages first, before an international game imo.DDB220 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 01, 2023 6:02 pm A football career is short. Re: Stuart Dallas
Excuse? Why do I need an excuse? Dallas playing international football after a year out? Silly? Really? Internationals is why we are without Wober and Gnonto and are in the deepGreennWhite wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 2:29 pm Good on ya Stewart, get some pitch time and some much needed match fitness. Re: Stuart Dallas
Maybe i have been looking at the table wrong but i thought we were in deep
before Willy and Wober went to play recently in internationals. If you want to attach that analogy to players getting injured in internationals then why have international teams at all, and just how many players from each international team actually get injured in each game, i would guess its a pretty low %
The staff at Leeds United will have looked after Stewart as well as they possibly can, they will advise him about what to do and what not to do. I very much doubt he would go against their wishes and ruin another season for himself. Maybe we should just ban all our internationals from ever playing again for their countries, I'm sure they would love that.
Anyway i hope he plays games in June and gets himself in good shape for the pre season.

We'll just have to agree to differ on this one.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 9:57 am Maybe i have been looking at the table wrong but i thought we were in deepbefore Willy and Wober went to play recently in internationals. Re: Stuart Dallas
Nothing good ever comes from cottonwooling... When do we play him? U21's, where he could get injured and may not pay til a month into the season anyway, 5 minutes off the bench here and there in a dead game maybe? Could get injured there too, Maybe throw him into the first game, match rusty, after the off season ...where, you guessed it, he could get injured... He could get injured in training
One assumes that whomever it is he plays for first game back that he would have been cleared to do so and if that's Northern Ireland then thanks for getting him match fit for us and fingers crossed..

Re: Stuart Dallas
Further clarification on Stu's injury, surgery, and rehab--from Leed's own head of medicine, Rob Price:
"He actually knocked off the bottom of his femur. There are two balls at the bottom of the femur, he completely broke one of those off. We got a private ambulance down to London. Stu underwent surgery.
A seven and a half hour procedure. They spent hours making sure they aligned the joint. minimum of 12 months, could be 24, probably 18. He is 16 months. He’s made the next stage of his rehab."
