Re: Horse Racing News - 2023 CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL Next Week

Post by 1964white »

Cheltenham was covered in snow on Friday morning, just four days before the start of next week's festival, as ground conditions were eased to soft (from good to soft) following 12mm of wintry showers in the previous 24 hours.

Also I always say win big on the last race and you can’t give it back!
Funny story. Four of us had a bad day at the Festival one year. I lost £500 on the day mainly due to Adam Kondradt being a useless Bamford like lump on The Fellow. Anyway that night back at the hotel ended up in a big card game. If you won a hand you bought a round. Last hand of the night ended up me v my mate and I won. £500
Went up to our rooms totally hammered and I hid the money and in the morning couldn’t find it.
Cue panic and three of us turning the room upside down. It was under the mattress. Phew
Hahahaha, clean pants required!!!!

One of my favourite horses in training.

Did you notice Corach held his head in the air with his ears pricked once he hit the front on the run-in.

Great ride by Derek Fox

Not a fan of a high head carriage.
Normally not a good sign or at least a tricky type.
But ridden to perfection.
For me a crazy price for the GN.
But I’ve been wrong before :)

This   .

Ultimately, it’s just a bit of fun for us on the forum. I couldn’t care less if I was stone cold last in the competition as long as every horse gets home safe and sound.

No question Ken.
Proper race fans love the horses and want to see them all safe & well.
One thing that always stands out especially in NH racing is the love the stable staff have got for their “inmates”. Often overlooked by people who think it’s cruel

Wouldn’t underestimate what he just did to State Man.
In a bigger field with a stronger pace he’d be even better.
Awesome!
