Me and my son were just talking about this. He thinks a striker should be brought in. He thinks Koch and Meslier will go. I think there are a couple of the new boys who need to play in the under 21’s - Rutter and Aaronson, Wober should be paid to stay !

I think Meslier and Gnonto will go (hope not but …..), Adams and McKennie will not stay, Cooper, for all his captain skills, should go. Bill hopefully will stay. Not sure about Roca though - over to everybody else

I very much doubt we'll be in a position to retain :

Meslier
Kristensen
Koch
Wober
Firpo
Adams
McKennie
Roca
Aaronson
Harrison
Gnonto
Bamford
Rodrigo
Rutter

Swap Bamford for Sinisterra and I'd agree. No way anyone will want Bamford and Sini won't stay.

If all those players are too good for the Championship, it begs the question of why we went down? 🤔

We couldn't afford to retain Paddy on a 70k weekly salary.

Same game we play every year, opinions usually massively off the mark... I mean Kalvin was gone 3 years in a row before he actually went!!

We'll be able to afford to run with most of the prem squad for at least one season, and I think we'd come straight back up. A judicious sale of two/three players to bolster the 140m we'll get in and then add a quality player or two.

We also have a lot of quality in the 21's to come through, the likes of Archie Gray, Gyabi, Dani van den Heuvel, Monteiro, Snowden (who looks class) Perkins and Fernandez, all of whom another year older

But feel free to keep churning out the negative threads, I guess "we" enjoy our misery here

ATM I'm not even contemplating relegation though

But no one will want him.

I'd also add Cresswell and Archie Gray to the list of who we'd struggle to keep.

With a smattering of poor recruitment perhaps?

Meanwhile Brentford's 2nd season syndrome sees them sat in 9th with a squad still full of Championship players who had to settle for promotion via the play-offs and have still never signed a player for anything over 20 million. When you look at how little they paid to build their current squad it's astonishing.

When you compare us to them it's easy to conclude we have been poorly managed in one way or another be that with the manager in the firing line or the board themselves.

If you'd have told me at Christmas we wouldn't have been in a position to retain Firpo if we go down.. :roflmao:

It's more to do with wages than him being too good. The wage bill would absolutely cripple us, and with no parachute payments to help, we'd need the 49ers to keep us afloat basically.

Why would our expensive international signings want to ply their trade in the championship?

Every top PL club would have noticed the quality of Gnonto.

Yep. I think Gnonto, Koch and Meslier will be sold, even if we stay up.

Same with Brighton & Fulham. proper scouting.

I'm hearing Chelsea have poached Brighton's chief scout, whether that will affect their future recruitment, who knows :duno:
