Re: Junior Firpo
Watched the whole game again this afternoon.
Goal, crosses & a high impressive pass accuracy rate. Even more impressed with Junior's defensive display, which has improved beyond my expectations. One of our previous coaching team has been working on this aspect of his game. I counted : 10 tackles/duels/ball recoveries won -- 2 blocks -- 3 interceptions

Good analysis 64. I thought it was his best game, not because he scored the vital goal but because he seemed to be more on it defensively. I have a vivid memory of late on Tyler Adams having to race back to make an interception because Junior wasn't going to get there. Apart from that he was miles better than he has been in other games. He also seems to be avoiding yellow cards too.

If you have a Bob Monkhouse fetish it’s not a problem for me. You just need to admit it. That is the first but admittedly difficult step in recognising you have a problem.
I declare my love for Saint Daniel and I can shoehorn him in to any conversation.

Having the likes of Wober & Adams around Junior won't leave him exposed defensively.AylingFlop wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 7:53 pm Good analysis 64. Going on his last two performances, it would seem we don't need another LB, his recent display has been a long-time coming.

Re: Junior Firpo
Don't think it is a coincidence that his best game for us came in a match where we had 61% possession.
Where we recorded our highest pass accuracy for ages (85%).
Players weren't being told to force forward passes that weren't on.
Players were allowed to maintain possession if that was the best option.
As an attacking full back it allows you more time to pick and choose your moments and positioning.
Jesse Marsch and his style was a massive part of the problem as was Bielsa and his man to man marking.
Isnt to say Firpo will turn into prime Roberto Carlos.
But I can see him happier in a more controlled style.

I was too thick to go to university but I was known as Barry White in school due to my great singing voice.

Anyway back on topic. Junior Firpo definitely reminds me of a film star. Can’t figure out who though
