Do we still need a LB?

Post by Irish Ian »

So what is the plan?

Wober plays in the middle. (Did well)

So that raises a couple of questions..

Does Jesse not trust Struijk at CB?
Does he still not trust Firpo at LB?

Is he waiting for Dallas to get fit?

Struijk had little defending to do today but all that did was to highlight his attacking defincies

If Cooper is available, who gets dropped? Who plays LB? What does our strongest defence look like?

Yes we need a LB - but getting one in this window looks extremely unlikely.

Strujik showed defensive strength but attcking limitations as a LB today. Basically he doesnt have the guile to get that final ball into the box.

I do think we have a left back in Wober. And if Cooper is fit, Wober will play at LB. It's a shame that Strujik had a dip in form and played badly at CB against Cardiff. Otherwise, I think the 2 would have flipped positions today. But with Cooper out, Wober probably has to play CB

YES!! But we won't get one in this window. However, I do think with Worber on board we have options. I think the first choice back line for the rest of the season will be Ayling, Koch, Worber, Struijk.

Since the thrust of our attacking play appears to be focussed on the left, I'm not unhappy for Struijk to play LB with a more defensive mindset.

If he was overlapping regularly he'd probably crowd Gnonto and Harrison, and we need the defence to provide a steadier platform and let the flair players do their thing.

I'm sure I'll be told why that's too simplistic. :)

Yes without doubt we need a NEW left back. Marsh has NO idea as he plays Struijk who is a CB out of position and Junior is a waste of time at this level. Has JM thought of playing 3 CB's with 2 WB's this would solve our issue
Leeds need a great summer 2026 with outgoings and incoming players

Marsch has no idea you claim and you put Gnonto on the bench.

Please tell me which games Gnonto has been great to ensure he makes my starting 11. You need to discount Cardiff as they are in the bottom 3 of the championship
