It's Brentford's way of playing though, regardless of the opposition. They don't really go out to impose themselves on the opposition. Even at home they play that way and when they beat us 5-2 a lot of people suggested we played well but because Brentford stuck to their gameplan they simply picked us off and won easily.

Forest will definitely take more risks but they look more potent than Brentford atm. They may well suit us and we’ll find out a little more about Wober & Co.

Deary me.

It looked genuine, it looks like the sort of thing Red Bull give to new managers in a learner's pack.

It also suits the middle management sound of Marsch.

Cringe

Was Jesse fist pumping a defeat "celebrating moments"

Oh ffs, i've just read that

It sounds like Yank corporate speak, summert that's just come off ' Wolf of Wall St' with Leonardo

What have we become.

We had a genius, we're now left with Orta the clown running our club, and Jesse's luck.

That's about where we're at.

Fcking sad.

The results have got worse the longer JM has been in charge. The more his style, his tactics, his formation, his bravery, his confidence, his improvement, his team's great performances - the more all those are coming to fruition the worse we get in terms of results. By the time we play exactly how he wants us to do we will be relegated.
This^

We're going fcking nowhere,

Even the Nirvana Jesse wants to get to will be shite anyway, and even worse might not be good enough for survival, coz anyone can beat us with our defence, shore that up, and we've nowt going forward only chaosball.

WE SHOULD NOT BE IN THE HANDS OF A FCKING CLOWN THAT DOESN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT FOOTBALL FFS !!!

HE'S NEVER EVEN PLAYED THE GAME, AND ONLY GOT INTO IT FROM COLLECTING FCKING PANINI STICKERS !!!

My faith has been restored. I am fully behind Marsch's 'A wing and a prayer' tactic.

There is one big difference between sacking Bielsa and sacking Marsch.

Bielsa's wages was used by a few here as a stick to beat him. Yet, ironically, sacking Marsch may cost far more because of the time left on his contract.

Can anyone who believes in this s**t explain what 'going in, shifting, pumping, and celebrating moments' is supposed to translate to on the pitch?
Some of it is obvious.

Largely press related I think.

I have only just realised what a fool I have been and how great Jesse Marsch absolutely is. He has masterminded us away from an outdated playing style to a much more modern way of playing which creates a closeness and a bond between our players. No longer do wingers need to feel unloved and isolated they are now part of the action. We share the love with other teams, giving them goals and creating an atmosphere where no one fails. I am only amazed that Jesse is still with us as I'm sure many clubs are enviosuly looking at us and wonder if they could entice him away from us.

Phew - took me a long time to realise that you guys weren't being f*ckwits but that you know how the business world works and how you can't sack someone as it cost too much so you praise them and hope some other company will fall for it and hire that person. You guys are all geniuses and I can only apologise for not realising what you were all up to and it is my fault that we are still stuck with Jesse as other clubs obviously read my posts and decided against making an approach for Marsch. Sorry everyone for inflicting more Marsch misery on us all.

Shifting & pumping. When we were teenagers there’d be general sniggering at that.

One of the main criticisms or concerns around Marsch for me (performances and results aside) is I'm not convinced he is a Football manager in anything but name.

No football manager has been truly unique for decades (even Bielsa). Every idea has been conceived by somebody before and its been that way for years.

What tends to happen is a manager has various influences and then throws in there own thoughts and makes a style.

Bielsa took ideas from Van Gaal and Carlos Bilardo and others and put them together and made his style with his own ideas

Pep took ideas from Bielsa and Cruyff and others and put his own ideas and made a style

Klopp took ideas from Rangnick, Sacchi and others and put his own ideas in and made a style etc

Marsch being a very clever man as he is seems to have read Ralf Rangnick's coaching manual and absorbed it (as an intelligent man like him can) and that's it

Thats what he has.

That isn't being a football manager, that's plagiarism.

What ideas of his own has he got? Where is his input?

I don't see a football manager, I see an academic
