We're doing worse than in the past, we're doing awful in the present and I have no confidence ti will improve in the future.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 8:34 pm Those who are worried are very much looking at the present and realising what a precarious position we are in
The results have got worse the longer JM has been in charge. The more his style, his tactics, his formation, his bravery, his confidence, his improvement, his team's great performances - the more all those are coming to fruition the worse we get in terms of results. By the time we play exactly how he wants us to do we will be relegated.

Re: Jesse Marsch- Faith restored?
My own view on Marsvh hasn't changed since he was appointed (I didn't think his style would work) said it when he arrived.
He got the job because he was unemployed so relatively cheap, because Orta puts a lot of stock in analysis (something Cesc Fabragas criticised today) and because he is a yes man, he wouldn't complain and he would do all the PR stuff Radz wants (man never stops giving interviews)
Bielsa has no impact on my view on that (he got the sack and deserved it for form).
Marsch is the same because of form.

I get that Sara. But your comment was about improved defense. And there is some evidence of improvement in that department. Probably not enough to save Jesse's ass....

Re: Jesse Marsch- Faith restored?
Probably too early to judge yet as we had conceded 8 goals in the last 4 matches (2 in each match) prior to this game (or 19 in the last 9, or 28 in the last 14, or 33 in the last 16 if you prefer larger sample sizes and to show a consistent level). Brentford seemed happy to stay in their own half rather than to particularly have a go at us. Hopefully a turning point defensively but will wait to see.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sun Jan 22, 2023 11:44 pm I get that Sara. But your comment was about improved defense. Well no s**t Sherlock....it's a small sample. How many games has Max Worber played for us? As I said, it is yet to be seen if we can sustain it.weasel wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 12:42 am Probably too early to judge yet as we had conceded 8 goals in the last 4 matches (2 in each match) prior to this game (or 19 in the last 9, or 28 in the last 14, or 33 in the last 16 if you prefer larger sample sizes and to show a consistent level). I get your willingness for Jesse to succeed Paul, but it's not happening for me now (it never did)BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 12:53 am Well no s**t Sherlock....it's a small sample. How many games has Max Worber played for us? As I said, it is yet to be seen if we can sustain it.
I'm still unsure about replacing him at this moment in time but could easily regret that and wouldn't be reet arsed if he was sacked tomorrow.
Yes he might be able to shore up the defence a bit more but it's at the cost of the offence (Jeez i'm sounding like a Yank) and against Brentford i saw umpteen times that if the right ball came in on one of their attacks, that they had at least one man free to score, the defensive performance didn't fill me with much confidence other than it was nil by luck.
I'm still on a knife edge game after game coz i'm seeing nothing that rips teams apart football wise and chances created, this formulae isn't gonna get there imo, it's just not reet for the Prem, the odd game yes, but not overall.
I don't think Jesse has owt else.

I don't think our defence was any better against Brentford just that Brentford seemed happy to stay in their own half. They seemed happy to come for a point and didn't really want to jeopardise that.Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 8:31 am Yes he might be able to shore up the defence a bit more but it's at the cost of the offence (Jeez i'm sounding like a Yank) and against Brentford i saw umpteen times that if the right ball came in on one of their attacks, that they had at least one man free to score, the defensive performance didn't fill me with much confidence other than it was nil by luck.

Re: Jesse Marsch- Faith restored?
Another indicator of a team not perceived as a relegation team... You don't go to teams struggling, relegation threatened and "settle" for a draw.. which is what they seemed to do
