Azzedine Ounahi-Scores a debut Worldie
Feels like he deserves his own thread now.
22 year old Morroco World Cup star.
Club career a bit meh, only 2 goals and 2 assists for Angers.
Even Victor Orta in the World Cup said he was aware of him but was wary of buyng players just because of a good tournament and implied Ounahi didn't do as well for his club.
Ounahi was genuinely one of the breakout stars of the World Cup for surprise package Morocco.
A technically gifted and elegant box to box midfielder, he could potentially give our midfield a bit of attacking class which is currently lacks.
Different from both Roca and Adams and still young enough to improve.
He dominated against players like Gavi, Pedri, Busquets, Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Neves.
He clearly has potential but is it to much risk based on 1 international tournament?
A fee of around £20mil has been reported.

Re: Azzedine Ounahi-GENUINE INTEREST
That was at a major tournament with his countrymen. Can he reproduce it in the PL? The jury has to be out based on his club form. We are certainly showing ambition, after all we never do business in January
I declare my love for Saint Daniel and I can shoehorn him in to any conversation.

Jesus, £20 million? It would be nearly cheaper to buy Angers club itself.

Geeeez, pre the January transfer starting the club were getting hammered for not going to be signing anyone as " they are skint " " we never buy anyone in January "
Now we buy 2 new players, possibly looking at buying a third ?? and the club are still being questioned because these new guys are MAYBE not up to the required standard, or its too much money.

This latest guy is a massive overpay.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 11:43 am Geeeez, pre the January transfer starting the club were getting hammered for not going to be signing anyone as " they are skint " " we never buy anyone in January "

Yes we want to strengthen the squad but not numerically.
And those numbers buy you a lot of quality if you shop well
Overpay for Wober, same for Rutter and this looks like another.
Not wise

I'm pleased to see they're investing and hopefully we're not buying some duds.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 11:43 am Geeeez, pre the January transfer starting the club were getting hammered for not going to be signing anyone as " they are skint " " we never buy anyone in January "

We can always blame Jesse and his tic-tacs
I always thought Forshaw was shite, but apparently it's been Bielsa and Jesse making him look bad.

Used to like orange tic tacs. Actually a good analogy for our tactics. Get a box of tic tacs, shake them up, lob them on the table & hope for the best.White Riot wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 12:01 pm I'm pleased to see they're investing and hopefully we're not buying some duds.

I'm happy we are making an effort to be competitive in the future.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 11:43 am Geeeez, pre the January transfer starting the club were getting hammered for not going to be signing anyone as " they are skint " " we never buy anyone in January "

I was only kidding, Leon.
I admire the ambition tbh. It’s a gamble but it’s a gamble with someone else’s money.

How come the smiley face comes up as a question mark in a blue box on the actual message but not if you quote it? If that makes sense.White Riot wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 12:30 pm See that's where you're going wrong Jay![]()

No clue about this guy, prolly should watch some you tube vids to get some idea. But didn't watch Morocco play nor bottom of the table and going down Angers
Very tough to play in a possibly poor relegation team ....

He was the standout player for them. Saw most of their games. He looked very good but what was his price before the WC to now. 10 up to 20 mill maybe.
Seems more of a gamble than Rutter to me
