Spent a couple of nights up at Stan Laurel's place of birth just after the new year.
It commemorates Sir John Barrow (1764-1848), who was born in Ulverston, and was built in 1850 at a cost of £1250. The cost being met mainly by public subscription.
Taken outside our Premier Inn but unfortunately it never stopped raining after the picture and the mrs didn't fancy the hike in the rain.

That reminds of Sky Racing asking the Worcester Clerk of the course what the going was like when the course was fully under water. “Choppy” came the reply. Quality

Thing is whenever there's the huge volume of water flowing down the system like the last day or so it brings with it all sorts of things from bits of vegetation/tree, rubbish, the odd dead farm animal and many other oddities down from as far up as the top of the Rhondda and Cynon Valleys and this then all ends up in Cardiff Bay, calling for a massive clean up down there.

That’s some serious s**t.
Farm animals? Sounds like a free meal in Wales
