Re: Ben White - Says thank you.

Post by Cjay »

Bit surprised Brighton let him do this in truth and even more so that they posted it on their Twitter.

No ill will towards Ben at all.

The days of forcing a move are long gone (look how hard it is even for Messi).

His agent confirmed today he did was to join us.

"Of course. He enjoyed his time at Leeds incredibly. They looked after him so well, the fans were fantastic to him.

“But when a football club don’t want to sell it’s very difficult. There was a tinge of disappointment but that passed quickly, Ben’s head is fully at Brighton and he wants to get cracking in the Premier League now.”

I dont think that is a surprise to anyone and deep down i expect most Brighton fans know he would have gone if given the option.

Fair play to then for letting him post that, wouldn't be to pleased with his agent though if it was the other way around.

Looking at his body language and voice he looks gutted and in mourning that he's not at Leeds.

He's a victim of circumstances.

We've moved on to brighter and better times.

I suppose you can't blame him for wanting the security of a long term contract. But he's now gonna have a miserable season at Brighton.

They also let Glenn Murray go who has always scored for them. Trouble at mill, they'll go down this season and I don't think he'll get so many starts with Potter.

Plenty of other clubs in a mess too, Newcastle fans seem very unhappy and astounded that we're picking up all these great players.

How the worm has turned

Probably not but Koch looks better and Struijk will be. Would still love to get White but 15M not 50

Agreed, such a shame, we still need a CB as yesterday proved because whilst PS is going to be a great player he needs a year being an alternate and Koch will take a little while to really settle and get up to speed. In the circumstances yesterday both did okay but Ben with either would've been more solid.

Some of the link up play would have been better if White was there but he would still have been playing with a new partner at CB and that’s where the key issue lay.

White would possibly have had no impact on any of the Liverpool goals. The penalties would still have no been conceded, Van Dijk would still have scored (with the help of Mane’s sly tug on his CB marker) and White is less capable than Struijk at heading so Salah was still slamming in his second.

If he was playing with Cooper it would have been more likely to be different.

I would say that Liverpool could have done with White, just as much as we could. He would not have let Jack past him for our first. !

In a rather hilarious turn of events it seems our fans hijacked the Brighton Player Of The Year vote.

That was brilliant!

Very embarrassing for the club, and for their fan base who seem to be in agreement that White would only have been third at best.

Just as well our lot intervened!

Just off to bed but seen that Ben has withdrawn from the England World Cup squad for "personal reasons".

No news on why and wouldn't speculate but Arsenal said "We're all with you Ben"

Hope the lad is OK whatever it is.

Doesn't sound good for Ben & his loved ones, I assume it's a serious illness or bereavement if they are requesting the media & everyone for privacy.

I heard this morning that it is about to be revealed that he and Reece James are in a relationship.
Absolutely no idea if it's true, could be complete bollocks.

No mate.
This came from an Arsenal fan in my office.
Apparently there has been a rumour circulating about them being a couple for some time.
As I say, it could be, a probably is, a load of bollocks.

Would that be a good reason for departing the England squad?

Thought it was some clever joke going over my head 😀
I know it would be high profile but what does it say about the FA if he has to be sent home because he’s gay. They don’t want it to upset the squad 😂
Oooh Bens gay and now I just can’t concentrate on being a footballer says hairband wearing Grealish 😂

Not in my eyes but if someone is about it expose it he may feel he is unable to give his full commitment to the squad and it may disrupt things.

Whats it matter if he is gay?

I'd think if it is true its more likely they don't want a gay man in Qatar playing for a national team.

Imagine the apoplectic rage that will produce in a country with the rules they have. The FA bottled it over the armbands, imagine Ben White coming out in such a place, unthinkable
