Charlton v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings
Tough game this one as we attempt to repair our recent feeble away form
Any of our London/South based fans going to this game ?

Re: Charlton v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings
Difficult to predict a team for this one with question marks hanging over both full backs.
If Byram and Warnock are out, then Peltier at RB and maybe Pearce at LB again given his decent reviews?
Smith seems to have been quiet the last couple of games and Dexter has been champing at the bit when he's come on so it could be worth switching those two?
Does Mowatt deserve to be dropped? Tonge's been decent when he's played, and Mowatt seems to have faded a little since Hudds (despite the two assists).
Charlton are very beatable and it'd be nice to get a little run going and an away win!

Really not sure about Pearce at left back. Yes, he put in a great shift against Yeovil and nobody could doubt his efforts and commitment, but he's not really mobile enough to be a full back.Genghers wrote:Difficult to predict a team for this one with question marks hanging over both full backs.

If Pugh doesn't come in then I think I'd have Pelts as LB and Lees RB with 2 of Wootton, Pearce and Marius at CB.
It wouldn't be a bad move to bring Tonge in with Mowatt on the bench, Mowatt is undoubtedly a future star but Tonge would offer a bit more cover if we have a makeshift LB.

Haven't Charlton not conceded for 7 hours or something? Suggests their defence is pretty solid so I would get balls into the box so Smith can batter them!
Beware the fury of a patient man - John Dryden.
Re: Charlton v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings
Completely forgot about Pugh! If he's fit then it'd make sense to have a more natural LB in there. I wouldn't want to change the formation too much though, as it seems to be working quite well at the moment.Guildford White wrote:Really not sure about Pearce at left back. Not conceded in the league since October 1st. Only scored 2 in that time, mind!Gino 1959 wrote:Haven't Charlton not conceded for 7 hours or something? Suggests their defence is pretty solid so I would get balls into the box so Smith can batter them!

Would definitely prefer Pugh to Pearce at Left Back......however well he did on Saturday, as we saw when Scannel skinned him down the side at the Hudds game, you do not want your central defender exposed against a nippy winger.
Stick to the Pearce/Lee's/Wooton combo in the middle of the defence with hopefully Sam likely to be back on the right.
As I alluded to on another thread, may be time to give young Mowatt a break, therefore possibly Tonge for him in the middle.
Up top, time to give the much more mobile Dexter Blackstock a start over Matt Smith for me.

According to BMs post-match interview Byram is supposed to be okay for Charlton... I agree about Pugh I think he could find his niche as a left wing back in that sustem... has never really been given a chance at ER

One of my favourite grounds and up to our last two visits we had a pretty good record at The Valley including the 6-1 demolition in 2003, the biggest win I've witnessed away from home. I think it has 0-0 written all over it but my heart says 1-0 win :scarf2:

As feared - Byram and Warnock miss the game.....Pelts and Pugh then.

I see a draw 2-2 or 0-0.

Leeds win - one nil. McCormack penalty in a boring and ugly game.
