Got home late from work and just finished watching the replay.

I was well pleased. We were far the better side. Some issues still, but very happy to have that performance under our belts prior to playing scum.

We’ll just keep him then.

For me he is a bit like your prospective son in law.

He's OK but you have this nagging feeling there are better options out there.

I know mate, he’s exceeded all expectations so far in the PL and fair play to him. Like many, I wasn’t sure he was capable, but having done the business I’d want ridiculous amounts for him if we sold him, because it would take ridiculous amounts to replace him.

And I agree, a top lad, a credit to the club on and off the pitch.

That’s it though - you eventually grudgingly accept your Son in Law because he proves he’s up to it, and in the end you have to acquiesce or risk the wrath of your missus and daughter.

Just wish we had 2 international defenders.....Oh hang on :duno: we do....but they are both injured....Err? Have people forgotten that? Unfortunately our 'Championship' defence has to carry the can at the mo.....and they are doing their best.....

Agreed. I think he's turning into a fantastic well-rounded striker. His finishing has been a lot better this season, and his work rate and build up play have always been top-notch. We talked about guys like Watkins and Wilson in preseason, but I wouldn't swap him for any of them.

Did anyone see that superb photo of Bamford on the BBC Sport app? How far he leapt into the air with both legs was amazing. What a photo....what a leap...well done Paddy, superb....

My view on it is that he finds himself in a strange middle-ground position.

He is not world-class to the level where one of the big clubs would come in for him, but he is certainly above the standard of the sort of club who would pay £10-15m for a striker.

The fact that he is worth far more to us than any other team surely means that he won’t go anywhere.

Where you could see a team breaking the bank for someone like Phillips, you couldn’t see a team willing to pay £30m for Bamford, even though we wouldn’t let him go for any less than that.

A BTL comment from the Guardian Online which sums up our season well :)
It's 0-1 and it's "Bollocks!" it's 1-1 and it's "Come on!" It's 2-1 and it's "Here we go!" It's 2-2 and it's "For fucks sake!" It's 3-2 and it's "Get in!" It's 4-2 and we're " Marching on together!" It's 5-2 and it's "They think It's all over, it is now!"

(Never doubted we wouldn't win, once we got our noses in front. Except at 2-2 when I knew we'd lose. And at 3-2 when I thought we might get a draw. Even at 4-2 we're only one set piece away from a comeback but at 5-2, never doubted we'd win for a second.)
Un Marcelo Bielsa, solo hay un Marcelo Bielsa. Gracias Marcello. Marsching on together.

All that Lord Bamford needs to become the perfect striker is a couple of "go faster" stripes shaved into his head just like the ones Jack Harrison has.
