Great minds think alike
I just created a team on this site this am and was about to create a league, but got busy with gardening, car washing, sorting out our new apartment, etc.
I think this league deserves it's own thread

Does the site give a list & cost of the players similar to the Premier League Fantasy site?

Good stuff Leon
Where you have your team if you look to the right you can see a list of available players, which starts with most expensive, but you filter different searches eg defenders.
Leon, is it possible to move this competition to it's own thread? Otherwise it's probably gonna get lost here?

Works exactly the same way, think points look higher with 7 points for a goal for a defender, 6 for a mid and 5 for a forward. Midfielders get points for tackles so DMF's become a bit more relevant, plus if they create 2 chances they get a point
Best way is just to pick a team quickly to see where you are finance wise then you can make as many changes as you like till game one kick off. Then subs, I assume, work the same way as the prem fantasy.
Their guide tells us this
With a $100m budget, select a team of 15 players and arrange your formation.
Each Round your captain scores double.
Transfer players to keep your team fresh. Keep an eye on the “Ones to Watch”!
You can make changes to your team during a live Round to maximise your points. Keep an eye on it after each game has completed!
Play smart by applying each score-enhancing booster for one Round during the tournament - Wildcard, 12th Man, Maximum Captain, Qualification Booster and a new Mystery Booster to be revealed ahead of the KO stage!
Score points across a variety of metrics, including goals, assists and much more.

Before round 1 it's unlimited. (Round one starts when Mexico kicks off)
During round 1 it's none then as below
Before start of Matchday 2 2 transfers
Before start of Matchday 3 2 transfers
Before start of Round of 32 Unlimited
Before start of Round of 16 4 transfers
Before start of Quarter-finals 4 transfers
Before start of Semi-finals 5 transfers
Before the Final 6 transfers
Get a team selected then you have unlimited subs right up till KO Thursday to tinker.

It looks fairly fluid, unlike the EPL one. If a player has played you can switch him out for one yet to start. This seems to mak it very hands on. Check line ups after every game because it seems to say you can start the whole squad over the course of a "matchday" if the timings workWhite Riot wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 10:22 am Yeah, I just auto selected a team and then playing around with transfers until the first match starts on Thursday.
For example (and if I've read it right) Kane plays, scores, ends game. You can then sub him out for a striker yet to play and score points there too..

God, it looks complicated.
Don’t usually do fantasy football so maybe I’m not used to the formula if they are all similar that is.
I’d like one without much upkeep.

Yeah, it seems to be more of a live and liquid process than FPL.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 11:02 am It looks fairly fluid, unlike the EPL one. Problem will be keeping up with things, and plenty of these matches are kicking off either very late, or middle of the night here.
It's already boiling hot here, so sleep's at a premium

Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 Fantasy League
Aye, looks like it'll take a bit of getting used to Finn, I'll read up on the rules again, so I've got a better idea of what to do
We do the domestic FPL and that's a lot less complicated than this, but can get a bit frustrating as you can't make any changes, or transfers during a gameweek, and if you miss the start of the gameweek then youre stuck with what you picked the week before.
I've found that with FPL it's always a learning curve, and as you play and get more experienced you develop your own thoughts and strategy of how to play effectively.
It is good fun though, and very addictive. Once you start playing you'll be hooked and get immersed in the game.

Going to be a trial and error thing I reckon. Probably need to look at fixtures each round making sure you don't have too many starting all at once. Make sure the bench is mostly later games. I doubt there are auto subs in this one if a player doesn't playWhite Riot wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 1:56 pm Aye, looks like it'll take a bit of getting used to Finn, I'll read up on the rules again, so I've got a better idea of what to do![]()

Still simpler than American football redraft, which is simpler than dynasty which is much simpler than Full Sim fantasy for American Football.
