Charlie Crew

Post by AcrossThePondAsh »

Seems the young up-and-comer deserves his own thread, what with his recent senior Wales team call-up...

Seems like a level headed, down to earth lad, I've not seen much of him playing but heard some good stuff about him, congratulations CC on getting the call up 👍 MOT

Good footballer, still an U18 AFAIK ... Probably the cream, atm, of our 18's. Course he has to get past Amps

Good luck to the kid we are short of attacking midfielders if that's where he plays?

Charlie Crew is far from a holding midfielder, gets forward, assists and scores goals.

That’s not a sentence you expect to read about a Leeds United player.

One goal and one assist this season gone for the 21's ...think he played around 21 games

Congrats on his first senior cap. Charlie played 12' with 22 touches and went 13/17 (76%) passing.

Good news, but think it's more to do with England sniffing round. I can definitely see him making his debut this season though.

Leeds Live posted about Charlie Crew yesterday. The basic is that he's got a great relationship with Ampadu. And he's also been getting a lot of guidance from Gruev. And it all sounds like he's going to get his chances with the first team this season. Maybe our 4th midfielder behind Ampadu, Gruev, Rothwell.

I kind of saw him as another defensive mid. Although I've only briefly watched the reserves over the past season and maybe seen him play 2 or 3 times. Anyone see him different?

Yea watched him a lot coming through the ranks, he can also play further forward but we had better players in those positions, but he's a calm lad on the ball, a run of games, even as sub would do him no harm.

Do you see him as more of an 8 or a 6?

Or maybe Farke will surprise us all like he did Gray and play him at right back.

He's an 8 for me, don't think there are many goals in him though but that doesn't bother me if so and I'd love it if he did hit double figures in a season not too far away for us.

Managers like nothing more than training up players in different positions, if it goes well they look good, if not the player gets the blame. As you might gather there aren't a lot of managers I think do a great job. Bielsa was one. I think Howe is another, would love him at ER.
