I was contemplating purchasing a new set of woods but, decided not to, maybe next January when we are down there again. A set of bowls cost between £350 & £400 now.
How do you choose from all the different woods 64?

Difficult Swannie.

For the OUTDOOR season, I purchased a very popular make nowadays, Drakes Pro 50 which has is a mid-bias bowling line, adapted to them really well & had a good debut season for the Cranswick club.

INDOORS I play with my old Taylor International woods which have a big swing of bias on them.

Just put the bowls on after watching the tennis....sounds like a lot of germs being spread around the amount of coughing and spluttering going on in the crowd

Probably that Driffield woman who cough herself silly there & back on our coach, not only gave me flu, but has infected many others down there. I heard a local club to us, some of their members knowingly had covid attended Potters, I kept my distance from them.

Inconsiderate tw*ts.

Football fans are the same who are so obsessed, they don't give a damn about anyone apart from themselves.

It is incessant & annoying, we turned the volume down.

I didn't notice any coughing in the matches we watched down there. If the old fogey's can't keep quiet, they should leave the arena.

A cracking semi-final between Alex Marshall & Paul Foster this afternoon.

Two Scots Marshall & Stuart Anderson in the final tomorrow.

After last weeks defeat, the game was a must win game if we have any ambitions of winning the League.

Wully Bullies 14-19 The Three Leos

To be honest, as a team, we didn't play well whereas the opposition three played excellent bowls, losing five shots on the 16th was a cruel blow for the Bullies, due to firing bowl going all wrong for them & hugely favouring our team.

It was a tense game, with my concentration levels at the highest as I desperately & constantly kept us in the game with my teammates having a real off day, both know they can play so much better, form is temporary, class is permanent as the saying goes.

The best team lost imo!

Those games in hand you have could prove crucial mate.

Yes mate, especially as we have to play the three above us once again.

Not such a bad thing as they are the ones you need to take points from.

You've had a few matches cancelled due to the heat, Shaun.

We have a match against Melbourne Cheetahs this afternoon, if we win, we'd go 2nd in the league with games in hand on Quickfire at the top. It won't be easy, as the Cheetahs v 3 Leo's is always a close game.

Yes Sean, it was all level 14-14 with one wood to play, we were two up, only for Melbourne skip Jackie to draw in for shot, :pig: to win the match.

Good close game.
Thursday was called off 43 degrees
Don’t know why they schedule games for the middle of the day.

Couldn't they be scheduled in the evenings?

This has been brought up a couple of times to the association.
Nothing ever changes it costs clubs money if it is your home game.
And next Saturday it’s predicted to be 40 degrees again.

We play evenings & it's much cooler here in the UK,

We get a few barmy summer evenings.

Our biggest win of the season, 32-4 against Driffield's 'C Teamers'

Keeps our title challenge alive with games in hand.
