Re: Brenden Aaronson- RUMOUR
Likely if he was english he would be at least double the price, like how Jadon Sancho was worth so much whereas if he'd been a foreigner would have been half the price.
Am guessing we finalised a deal in January to sign him permanently for a set fee should we avoid relegation - a very similar deal really to the one we agreed with Red Bull for JKA.
We definitely need someone for the no.10 role (or no.8 if JM goes for 2 normal strikers).

I think we will see a significant change squad wise this summer.weasel wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 5:50 pm Likely if he was english he would be at least double the price, like how Jadon Sancho was worth so much whereas if he'd been a foreigner would have been half the price.

Try and adapt it more to Marsch's style (which is why I could see Harrison being sold for example) we don't need wingers.
Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Noa Lang come in for that 10 role.

19 players contracts up this summer apparently. Could do worse than your suggestions .SG90 wrote: Really! He's f**king awful

Agree we need to sign players to change the shape to Jesse's tactics. But I think we still need wingers. I see Harrison adapting. And he'd still be an option for a tactical change when necessary. Since Rapha looks inevitable. And talk of James leaving. I see Harrison and Summerville as good squad options.

It's good news on Aaronson. With the money Raphinha will bring, we could two players at that price.

Re: Brenden Aaronson- DEAL CLOSE
Is he any good? This Aaronson geezer.
Re: Brenden Aaronson- DEAL CLOSE
Undoubtedly a risk but Red Bull Salzburg have one hell of an eye for a player.
Sadio Mane
Erling Haaland
Naby Keita
Amadou Haidara
Dayot Upamecano
Patson Daka
Dominik Szobozlai
Marcel Sabitzer
All have gone from RB Salzburg to better leagues and done well.
So effectively we are trusting one of the best scouting networks in Europe to have got it right again.
Furthermore this is a forum of American fans so they should give a better insight

Re: Brenden Aaronson- DEAL CLOSE
I'll offer two thoughts from the perspective of someone that follows MLS and the USA. First, Aaronson has shown the ability to raise his game each time the level has increased. From MLS to the UEFA Champion's League and with the USA. He featured in every single match during our World Cup Qualifying campaign when healthy. Many USA supporters think he has been better than Christian Pulisic. (They play the same position on the left for USA.) He can play wide and can also play the #10 position. Although I think he is better on the left. I have doubts that he is physical enough for the Premier League.
I think Harrison will be just fine in JM's system. Harrison thrived in Patrick Vieira's system at New York Citeh. He can and will adapt. And I think he is a Premier League level player. But he does need to stop giving the ball away...
