You're missing some of the best musicianship you'll ever hear, especially with Metallica. Big hole in your musical taste there...

Ahh I still love all music that challenges and interests which Death Magnetic does..I don't bar any genre really I just have likes and dislikes within it ...

Glad you found something to enjoy. I find my 'favourite' tracks change over time, but I still enjoy the album as a whole.

Gaslight Anthem & "The 59 sound " terrific stuff mate..actually trying this very afternoon

I'm having a terrible time with this year. There's nothing I feel strongly about.

The only record I still listen to regularly from that year is Spirit of the West's "Spirituality 1983–2008:
The Consummate Compendium" but it doesn't qualify for this competition. I would have gone with Portishead but Faaip beat me to it.

I guess I'll throw this one into the pot:
