Re: RIP To Those Departed
The same thing took my brother aged 59 which is why I have regular blood tests to check my PSA level.
If you're a man of a certain age (50+) it's well worth getting it checked as in many cases you don't realise you have prostate cancer until its too late.
RIP Bill.

Awful disease. Thought they’d developed a more accurate test but wasn’t mentioned on the news. When you think of other tests such as the obvious screenings for women it’s crazy nothing has been developed for something that 1 in 8 of us will get. My dad died from it in his 80s, but apparently that doesn’t put me in the danger category and GP’s seem reluctant to do a PSA test willy nilly (). And the other test is not the most lovely

Thing is, as I’m sure you know, PSA test is not always 100% accurate. What about the other check, do you have that too
I’ve talked to people around my age (57) who’ve asked for the PSA test and just been sent off with a leaflet.

Re: RIP To Those Departed
My dad died riddled with cancer aged 59 (not recent, 20 years ago). Terrible to witness his suffering for 2 years and a blessing when he went. No age. He'd never go to the docs for anything. Too far gone when he was seen. The most vile disease...
Re: RIP To Those Departed
Just recently my doctor (lady around mid 30's) did the finger up the bum check on me which resulted in me having an MRI and they have assured me all is fine but I've got to have a follow up appointment in November.Jaydog wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 10:44 am That’s sad about your brother Chilli. Promisingly my PSA result hasn't changed in 6 years although as you say, it's not 100% accurate.

We are good friends with a couple who are both GP’s and they spend a lot of their time doing that!
Well that’s good it all checked out ok with your MRI
Fairly sure they are trying to develop a test that could be rolled out more easily but it’s tricky from what I’ve read.

Dame Angela Lansbury died aged 96.
Incredible career, was working since the 1940s in films and will be involved in her last film role which was filmed this year.
80 years of acting, singing and stage work.
Worked with people like Ingrid Bergman, Katherine Hepburn, Paul Newman, Orson Wells.
Incredibly longevity.
RIP

And despite that, she is probably best known for Bedknobs and Broomsticks or Murder She Wrote.Cjay wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 1:39 pm Dame Angela Lansbury died aged 96.
