White Men Are Black Men Too - Young Fathers
No No No - Beirut
From Here - Stick In The Wheel

I've got a lot of 7's and 8's this year, I don't think any album as stunned me or is out there ahead of the rest.

I think I could narrow it down to 10 or so now but will need to play them all to narrow it down furthur.

2 of the 10 are on your list.

Just amended my list, somehow i had left my Album of the Year off my initial post

I doubt any of my favourites will feature heavily in the polls as they are not rocky enough :(

Will come back with a more definitive selection but some of his year's favourites:

C Duncan - Architect
Enablers - The Rightful Pivot
Kamasi Washington - The Epic
Kemper Norton - Loor
Killing Joke - Pylon
Max Richter - From Sleep
Public Service Broadcasting - The Race For Space
Rachel Grimes - The Clearing
Ryley Walker - Primrose Green
Sleaford Mods - Key Markets
Thundercat - The Beyond/Where The Wild Things Are (classed as an album but VERY short)
Unthanks - Mount The Air
Wolfgang Voigt - Ruckverzauberung

Think the Kamasi Washington one probably edges it as my album of the year. Either that or Max Richter.

Not a lot of standouts for me this year, bar the following:

The Lucid Dream (self-titled)
Kontiki Suite - The Greatest Show on Earth
Anton Newcombe and Tess Parks - I Declare Nothing
Brian Jonestown Massacre - Musique de film Imagine

Completely missed the Kontiki Suite album, another I need to listen too, still play On Sunset Lake a lot.

I don't think I will be playing this year - I have only bought one album.

Indeed, looking at all the selections above, not only have I not heard of any of the albums, I haven't heard of any of the artists either. :(
Delapsus Resurgam - When I fall I shall rise!

It's well worth getting, Ges; if anything, it's better than On Sunset Lake. I bought a download from their bandcamp page and am awaiting the vinyl release for my physical version. If you like a bit of pysch, check out the Lucid Dream album. It's on spotify

That's one more than me. I've never really bought online I don't trust it very much and I'm an impulse buyer so the buying process doesn't suit me either. All the record shops have gone too locally (bar the Rock Box and rock is getting a little passe)

I did buy Max Richter from itunes but it seems to have gotten lost in the ether, so not listened to it yet

can I nominate Lee Childs Make Me come january?

Just listening to Julia Holter's album now. She seems to nail it with the critics every year. Number 1 album in Mojo and Uncut and number 2 in Q. Her previous album came top of Wire magazine's poll in 2013. Never seen a bad review for anything she's ever done.

Wonderful album mate as is the Natalie Prass album which i haven't seen in many lists, arguably better than the Holter album
