Real Madrid gone into manipulation overdrive as well.

Promoting the us against them thing to the fanbase distracts from the fact they are 6 points behind Barcelona who beat them 4-0

Could the dull Celtic/Rangers domination of Scottish football be under threat this season?

Aberdeen with new manager Jimmy Thelin are having a storming season so far.

28 points from 10 games.

2nd behind Celtic on goal difference but 9 points above 3rd place Rangers (having beat them last weekend).

They've also taken a point off Celtic in Celtic.

They have the SPL top scorer Pape Gueye, top assists in Jamie McGrath.

2nd best attack and 3rd best defence.

Has to be said Celtic look formidable, goal difference is more than twice as good as the next best (Aberdeen).

But wouldn't it be nice if someone else won it!!!!

Last team to do it other than Celtic or Rangers was Aberdeen themselves 40 years ago under a certain red nosed manager.

It was City’s heaviest defeat since September 2020 and only the second time in his trophy-ladened spell at City that Pep Guardiola has been beaten in three consecutive games in a single season.

To cap a thoroughly depressing night for City, star striker Erling Haaland blasted a second-half penalty against the crossbar.

What happened here?

Just goes to show games are not reliant on statistics.

9 goals and 2 assists for Max Dean at Gent so far.

He's averaging in all competitions a goal or assist every 81 minutes.

He will be back in England soon enough.

A few of those youngsters we let go will have good careers. The problem was what were we supposed to do with them? Keep signing them to new contracts and loaning them out?

Leif Davis and Jack Clarke are the most obvious. A few others have made moves that will progress their careers. Players like Drameh would probably be alongside Leif Davis if he'd left sooner.

Always saw potential in Max Dean, especially his knack for goals. But he was always going to need a move away to fulfill his potential.

Tis indeed a very small percentage of players that make it anyway, I think it's actually less than 3% from parent clubs.

England game was a decent watch. Wasn't paying much attention at first as it was a very weak starting 11. But they played well. A few players making the grade: Lewis, Jones, Hall, Madueke

Greece were competitive too. Pickford had an excellent game, made a couple of big saves and was commanding as a sweeper.

It was a very dominating performance last night , as you say, when Greece got through pickford made 3 very fine saves indeed, bold move to drop Kane but it paid off.
Some promising youngstrers also had good games.
Win Sunday and win that league

Also, will Greece get a ban for the constant use of a laser all throughout the game !!!
What justification was there for the Greek police to use heavy handed tactics against England fans who were only queueing , no need for tear gas and batons and shields, when will FIFA bring the third world up to up to date with better policies.

Didn't watch it.

I was unaware England were playing.

Jill & I were catching up on series we'd recorded.

Point of reference - not watched a minute of football all last week, nor have I bothered to tune into Sky Sports News with the intention of taking in some Premiership football on this coming Saturday. Is it just me or are there others completely apathetic towards the Nations League competition which has the look of something a touch more than pre-season friendlies?

It could be that the competition will die a natural death if supporters throughout ignore what is supposed to be a cash cow.

The only sport I have watched was last Friday afternoon - South Africa v India in a T20 match played in Johannesburg. Excellent batting by a couple of Indian youngsters blowing the Porteas away to get to 283 for 1. South Africa managed to get just 148 in the tough run chase.

Next match is Australia v India 1st Test match in Perth on 22 November 2024. Pencilled into my diary to watch the play in the morning so lunch through to close of play :)
